Is on campus, again, right now, to check out practice and other things, until Tuesday, per ISD.
Excellent news when a kid comes in unannounced, on his own dime...
This is nice to hear

Bubba has been on campus and said publicly that he loved his visit to Notre Dame and has a hard time believing that the irish won't be in it til the end for the 6-5, 193-pounder with 4.5 speed in the 40. He said he loves the spread offense and likes ND's family atmosphere. A long time to go 'til signing day, but those are some good vibes early for ND.
I think Bubba woud be an excellent gift but i hope he works on his passing abilities because he is talented but i believe his feet are above his arm right now

I think the main competition for Bubba is the MLB draft next summer.
Quick question. IF he signed a LOI in February of 2011 and then got drafted in June. Would he have to honor that or is he free to go play baseball?
If Bubba commits to the Irish, do you think Kelly should go after another QB in this class in case if he gets drafted in the MLB??
I don't think he would. It would be too late anyways, if we assume his MLB draft will be in june 2011. By then, all the good QBs are sign somewhere else. Besides with 3 coming this fall, + Montana looking decent it wouldn't be a big deal. My guess is that he would focus on bringing a very elite one in the class of 2012 instead of just bringing some guy.
Crow and Mauk already look like they are going to be 2 of the best QBs in the 2012 class and both are very high on ND.
Your 2012 strategy is viable. Also Scout's #4 QB Kiehl Frazier is back in the picture for ND. The MLB draft is a concern but there are options.
Yeah, he's actually baseball first.
Starling plans to be in for July 4th. Baseball is still a real possibility
“I think both schools are going to be a good fit for him. He likes them because he feels like it’s away from home, but he feels at home there. He really likes both of them.”
The visit to Notre Dame will be the first for Debbie. Bubba has been to South Bend twice.
“I’m excited because I haven’t got to see it yet, and he really fell in love with Notre Dame when he went up there and saw the tradition there. He liked the size of the school with it being smaller and everything.”
As Bubba has sifted his way through the recruiting process, his parents have kept their favorite schools to themselves. They also hardly ever talk about the Major League Draft so they don’t add any more pressure to the situation.
“Wherever he goes, I want him to feel like it’s family environment, because he’s a pretty family-oriented kid,” Debbie said. “He’s not a big partier. He’d rather sit around with his cousins and family and hang out. Of course you want the academics and a place that’s going to make him a better person and a better man, but I want him to feel like he is part of a family.
What about the fact that Nebraska already has a committment from Jamal Turner (Scout's #11 QB). I'm not saying Bubba is afraid of some competition, but you have to think that sways him a bit toward ND?
Of course, BK took like 23,000 QB's in this years recruiting class so there will be plenty of QB competition anywehere he goes. Even if he commits, I'd like to see ND nab one more because it seems to me this kid could be pegged for Major League Baseball.
