Gause is a RB and LB and projects at OLB. In '09 he camped at ND and made an unoffical visit to Rutgers. He's returned to RU in '10 for a Jr. Day.

Scout lists him with 4 Stars and ESPN has him on their 150 Watch List.

He's got a good looking GPA. He was a ND camper in '09 but Weis and coaches are gone. Peloquin has the info but was not a coaching evaluator. There's lots of time.

Gause is doing a recruiting journal for the NittanyNetwork.
Quentin Gause's Recruiting Journal: Part One -

He doesn't have an offer from PSU or ND but there's an interesting comment in his journal:

... I've been playing football for 10 years. I'm 17 now, and I started the recruiting process in the 6th grade while attending East Irondequoit Middle School. My father, Richard, mother, Vielka, and uncle, Kala, started taking me to events then that would boost my exposure.
The process has been a lot of fun with a lot of work in and out of the classroom over the past few years. Some of these events were Nike combines, Under Armour combines and attending some college camps over the summer.
As of January, the recruiting process has taken a deeper turn. By this, I mean more mail — a lot more mail. I can see colleges are getting very serious and more aggressive via the stacks of mail sent to me. The type of mail sent is not just flyers anymore. There is an increase of handwritten letters and handwritten post cards, signed by recruiting coordinators and coaches. ...

He also runs track, lifts, and works with a tutor to keep his GPA up and prepare for the SAT/ACT tests.

Has offers from Rutgers, Syracuse, Louisville, Duke and Akron.

By all accounts this kid loves ND, attends a Catholic High School and has good grades. ND should consider him as he falls under the RKG that Kelly talks about. He looks like a great athlete from the You Tube postings.

I live in Rochester.. about 10 min away from his highschool. And to be honest, I havent heard his name mentioned too much either. I will deffinitely be checking him out this fall though.

Yeah I live around the area and I've never heard of him. Our school played Kearney but nobody ever really stood out as being a division 1 talent. Maybe he wasn't on the team yet or was a late bloomer or something.

Wow, that's rather perplexing that he's listed as a 4* recruit, you live that close to his school, yet you have never heard of him!? Keep the board updated ... it will be rather interesting on how his recruitment works out.

Yeah it is really strange I'll try and find some stuff out as well. As NDty9 said his grades are legit he goes to a very good school. I forgot to mention earlier that there is a kid playing for duke that went to to Kearney as well

I know Tony Jackson is from NY. Is he the one you're talking about?

He is being recruited as a LB. He was a finalist for Section v player of the year, and his teamate Jerome Lewis signed for V-tech as a TE. Kearney for being a smaller school has been producing D1 players the past few years.

Kearney is in a lower class, and not considered a local power house by any means. The highschool i graduated from ( Aquinas ) is nearly always towards the top. Yet as you see, Kearney continues to produce some quality D1 Athletes. I'm very excited to see this kid play come fall. And obviously id love for a local boy to suit up for ND!
