DL Vincent Croce and CB Blake Countess were removed from the ND Jr Day List. Both have been listed for some time with ND offers that were widely reported by the services including Jeff Baumhower of IrishEyes and Brian Smith of ISD.

Now both Croce and Countess have been removed from the Offered List at ISD and Blue and Gold and placed in their Prospect/Interested category. Rivals and Scout still list them with ND offers.

"Dropping like flies" ... "We need team players not individuals"

sigh

It's a Junior Day. The recruits pay their own way. The list posted in this thread was based on those who indicated a possible presence, not a guaranteed reservation. According to Lemming in a South Bend Trib article on 3/18

South Bend Tribune: Notre Dame football: Talent flocking to Junior Day

ND expects up to 60 prospects. Personally if I already had an offer in hand I'd probably come on a less busy day considering this visit would be a factor in making the biggest decision at that point in my life. Quite a few of the "dropping flies" have already made arrangements to come back during Spring Practice or for the Blue & Gold Game in April where ND will hold another Junior Day, or for later in the summer when they can spend more time.

Wienke reports DB Maika Polamalu, nephew of Pittsburgh Steelers safety Troy Polamalu is coming.

Other possibles are:

Sammy Watkins, a 6-1, 180-pound multi-position athlete from Fort Myers, Fla. Watkins' brother, Jaylen, signed with Florida last month. ... Two sophomores are expected to visit this weekend. They are defensive linemen Ryan Watson and Mike Madaras, both of whom play at Good Counsel High in Olney, Md.

LA! LA! LA! LA! LA!

I didn't hear him!

They're still dropping like flies and the world is coming to an end..

Based on no evidence whatsoever, here are my projections for the Notre Dame Junior Day!

We get at least one commit, probably Carrico.

If Kevin Hogan gets offered, he commits immediately.

If Bubba Starling commits, quarterback recruiting is still not over because of fear that he'll pull a Joe Mauer.

Have a good day everyone on IE, I'm going fishing!

So's Brian Kelly!

I've wondered that too. Do the coaches take their players and just show them around, show them a film. How much one-on-one time do they get?

Don't know Kelly's program. Generally on Jr Days recruits are welcomed by the head coach and/or recruiting coordinator, meet their position coaches to discuss and watch film on offensive or defensive scheme and how they fit in, meet their recruiter (if not their position coach, meet with Admissions Personnel/Faculty to discuss their career goal, major, and any academic issues or concerns, tour the campus facilities Stadium, Gug, Dorms, etc. In the past select recruits got to meet one on one with the head coach.

The purpose is familarization with ND, school and football program, faculty and coaches. Building bonds with the ND family. In most cases the goal is to get them back on campus in the future for Spring Practice, or B&G Game (also a Jr Day), or a summer unofficial visit, or summer camp for those working on an offer, and then an Official Visit next Fall.

You mentioned Maika Polamalu, funny thing about him.

1. Plays RB
2. Huge sense of entitlement....good talent but has an ego sized larger than his helmet.
3. He's incredibly talented

Have it from an inside source who played with him
