What are the Irish Commandments?

BK spoke of the Irish "Commandments" at his presser this morning. Any guesses on what some of those commandments might be?

Thou shalt kick ass and take names?

Thou shalt not enter our stadium and claim stake?

He had something along the same line at Cinci, with the word Bearcat involved. I can't remember what exactly they were called and I'm pressed for time, but I do remember the first one was that his players were to respect women. Kelly's real big on that...

I figured there were probably Laker Commandments and Chippewa Commandments and Bearcar Commandments...Irish Commandments just sound cooler.

According to Bearcats Rising, the Cats have a sign that hangs in their locker room with four Bearcat Commandments. The Commandments read as follows:

1) Treat women with respect
2) Do not steal
3) Do not lie
4) Do not cheat

These were the four Bearcat Commandments that Kelly said were not negotiable (i.e. break one and you're [insert colorful adjective] gone).

That may have been appropos for the UC locker room but those things and a lot more are basics expected of all ND students.

the problem is while those are the basics of morality most kids have no understanding of them.

without the basic building blocks these kids are building skyscrapers with a foundation of 2 x 4s. things like this are good foundation elements. lets not forget that these are 17-23 year old kids who may or may not have the foundation that is needed.

without those things the other things are not possible. basically its a start, sure its not an end but its a very very basic strong start.
