Who will be the top programs of the next decade?
Here's our projection:
Texas
It's hard to imagine a scenario in which Texas dips below elite status. The program's stature and recruiting base are unmatched.
Alabama
If ultra-competitive Nick Saban doesn't get the NFL itch again, it'll feel like the Bear Bryant days in Tuscaloosa.
Florida
Urban Meyer's health will determine how high the Gators go. But even if he leaves, UF becomes one of the most desired jobs in America.
Oregon
Unusual offense. Big budget. Bright young coach. With Carroll gone, the Ducks are set up to be the Pac-10's top dog.
Ohio State
The best of the Big Ten, Jim Tressel shows no signs of slipping. The Buckeyes are the surest bet of anyone.
Miami
The struggles of the past few years were the exception, not the rule. There's just too much talent in South Florida to struggle.
Nebraska
Why NU over Oklahoma? Competition. The North produces two to three patsies each year. The South should remain a gauntlet.
Notre Dame
Eventually, a resurgence is coming. There's just too many resources. We'll say sooner than later with Brian Kelly.
Pittsburgh
In time, a power will emerge in the Big East. Nobody is primed like Pitt. We know one thing: Steve Pederson wants to win.
Washington
A wild card, yes, but Steve Sarkisian might be what the Huskies need to restore the magic Don James created 20 years ago.
