I don't believe he will have to sit out anytime. A few Division 1A (FBS) players have done this when they couldn't get playing time at their original school and then moved on to pro football. Joe Flacco was at Pittsburgh before he went to Deleware and Brandon Jacobs started at Auburn but ended up at my old school Southern Illinois.

theres no question corp has all the tools, he has a cannon, mobility, pretty good accuracy. Maybe transfering down will benefit him, because i thought he was going to be a pretty good qb

It makes perfect sense in the sense that he already redshirted, so sitting out ANOTHER year would really suck for him.

Remember, this kid was a stud coming out of high school. SC fans foolishly said that he would be better than Clausen, that they got the better QB, that the real evaluators in SoCal has Corp rated higher, that Carroll really wanted Corp, not Clausen, blah blah blah. They look absolutely stupid now.

Oh, and after he had ONE bad game, they started calling him Aaron "Corpse" and completely turned on him. Granted, he looked HORRIBLE in that game, but still, bunch of pricks those fans were the way they turned on him.

It was the best thing for him to leave. Petey has a major league bromance going on with Barkley (to the point that a reporter out here actually asked Poodle if he had a crush on him LOL), so Corp had to leave. Think about it...he and Mustain were entering their 3rd year in the program, and Poodle moved Barkley past them after 15-20 practices. When Corp got injured Petey gladly moved Barkley ahead of him. Those 2 guys will never move ahead of Petey's love-child.

I've always liked Corp, especially when he was at OLu h.s. out here in Socal. He got screwed in the sense that he was a starter and lost his job because of injury. And by the way, he lost his job to the QB THAT HAD THE MOST INT's IN THE HISTORY OF PETE'S TEAMS AT usc. Apparently, INTs are OK for Barkley. Whatever. I wish Corp well...

Really? I feel like someone on this site predicted that before the season started...

I remember arguing that Barkley was going to be a stud, and I still think he is. As a true freshman, he had comparable numbers with many high draft picks. I saw most of his games...the kid is really good. His problem is that he doesn't have a coach to puch him. Poodle loves him too much to get on him for those horrible INTs. He never got in his face, and neither did Bates. The kid obviously has a penchant for INTs, and until he realizes that it's not OK, he'll continue to force things, which will be great for us and his opponents.

But SC has 2 receivers, Prater and Woods, that are absolutely killing it at the AA game practices, and with their Oline and Barkley throwing the rock, they'll be very formidable. Hopefully Prater will be more like Patrick Turner than Mike Williams...

didnt know there were any other Saluki fans here on the boards. Jacobs was a stud for them shame they couldnt have gone further in the playoffs that year

It is an interesting time for USC right now. They''re losing Corp to a transfer, Garrett Green is graduating, and Mustain has exhausted his eligibility. He may have one year left, but I am pretty sure he is done. That leaves the possibility of SC having Barkley and Scroggins (incoming highly touted freshman) as the only QBs on schollie. Williams might declare for the draft while McKnight has opted for the NFL because 'the timing is right". That would mean they lose their top rb and WR. Also, many media outlets are saying that Carroll is heavily interested in the newly opened Seahawks coaching position. Things will be interesting for them in the next couple months.
