and three of the four that didn't were 5-7. (Michigan, Purdue, and Washington all of whom had short spurts of playing well this year) Only true cupcake on the schedule this year was Wassu.

By the way, USC vs. Boston College? wow, who do you root for? to be honest I always like seeing SC lose but I know that if the Eagles beat them we'll never hear the end of it on the espn boards... ugh... who put this game together. Is there any way after five overtimes they could just call it a tie?

It's a real testament to our own season -

Looking at the team as a whole, our talent+experience would lead us to believe that this a bowl-worthy team.

But when you look at it on a game to game basis, we fell short to teams who have shown that they are competent, competitive football teams.

We still were 6-6 we should not go to any bowl game. If we do then people start to think is ok for ND to go 6-6, 7-5 NO! Not good enough. No bowl game for ND ever if we go 6-6, 7-5

Also the Huskies beat SC and just whipped Cal
Purdue beat OSU
Mich St should have beat Iowa etc.

Not to mention how every team circles ND on their calendar. We are the best 6 win team out there.

Oh yeah, definitely. Just to clarify my point, based on our talent+experience alone, I believe we should be bowl worthy.

But the W/L's are the bottom line, and they should be.

bottom line for me: how many teams on ND's schedule had more talent on the field than ND? clue: it wasnt 6.

almost 70 teams now go to bowl games, so big deal.

ND didnt go 6-6 because they played a tough schedule. their schedule ended up ranked 28th. nothing unsurmountable.

they ended up playing 3 ranked teams (sagarin). the other 9 were ranked, 39, 41, 42, 54, 56, 57, 76, 84, 119.
ND's record against top 10 was 0-0 (since they didnt play any who finished top 10)
ND's record against top 30 was 0-3.

my take on it is that ND helped teams like Navy, Uconn, and Michigan end up with better records than they should have had.

Great and we, by your standards, are the biggest midget in the circus.
