One Last Thank You for Coach Weis

I for one, being a huge fan and follower of ND football, want to say one last thank you to Coach Weis. Thank you for working your ass off, sacrificing so much, and representing this great university better than any coach i have seen in my lifetime.

Thank you for recruiting for ND like we have not seen since the 80's, and not leaving the cupboard bare like you recieved it. Thank you for representing ND so well off the field, while still showing we are competitive on it. Thank you for putting this team in a position to win every game, and to be a great football team not only this year, but the next seasons as well.

You took some tough losses, and you took the burden on your shoulders. You truely have shown the measure of what a ND coach must endure, possibly more than any ND coach ever.

Thank you for everything you have done. May God bless you and your family wherever you go.

Yea, he did do alot of things which showed his true character such as allowing that little kid who was sick to cal the first play against USC and then actually running the play when the situation might not have warranted the play call and the way he and the team supported Hughes with the death of his brother among other things. I dont think he ever made ND look bad. He was a stand up guy who took responsibilty for his actions.

Charlie, if you read this here's one Texan who wanted not to like you because of your stint with the Patriots. After all you've done and leaving this place better than you found it... I have nothing but the highest praise for you.

Charlie woke up the echo's 5 years ago when he came to ND. He said it best when he took the job. You are what you are. CW was a great man of character and brought in guys who showed it on and off the field. ND will be better off with the hiring of Weis. Call it what you want. But he just didnt have the best of luck. Loosing out on top notch defensive recruits such a Gerald McCoy, Everson Griffin, and Taylor Mays who all would have made a great impact on this team. They lost 6 games this year by a total of 28 points, 2 more stops a game and Weis would have gotten ND back to where we all expected them to be this year. Thank you for winning and loosing with class coach Weis, I hope the next coach sends him a big thank you for the talent level that he will be coming into.

Despite what many of us would like to believe, there is much more to life than football. Even Notre Dame football. The football team has always been expected to demonstrate the best ideals of the University; honor, integrity, dedication, devotion, and excellence. It is this one fan's opinion that you have exhibited these traits in spades. They may not all have manifested themselves on the football field, but life isn't all about football, is it? Your life, Coach, has been as big a win as any that has ever been decided on a gridiron. Your legacy at Notre Dame is, as yet, unclear. You might live forever in the same breath as Gerry Faust, or you might be remembered as the guy who saved the franchise, despite modest success in the Win-Loss column. One thing, however, that cannot be disputed, is your love of the University, of the program, and your desire to see it succeed. Whatever comes your way, Coach, remember that you are already a winner.
