I agree that the recruits stay if Stoops sets up shop in South Bend. Sooners also have 25 recruits at this time including 10 in the Rivals 250. Maybe some of them come on over as well. Mr. Justin McCay, maybe Haynes and any of their four 4* OL. Does he bring any of his staff with him?

Based on Stoops' record of success, he seems like a real pro. He does, however, seem thoroughly unfamiliar with Notre Dame. Oklahoma graduates only 46 percent of its football players. ND graduated 94 percent in 2008.

Do you see the problem here? Stoops coaches at a school with a completely different culture for student-athletes. I'm not saying he couldn't make the transition to Notre Dame, but recruiting would be more difficult for him, no question.

That said, Lou Holtz came from Arkansas and Minnesota, not exactly the Ivy League as far as student athletes go. So a successful transition is possible.

I would be a little worried about the "bad fit" factor, a la RichRod at UM.

Reading the Kely thread and i can't believe how ridiculous some people are by being offended over Kerry. Is this like the Republican party backing a 3rd party candidate in New York because the Republican running was not a social conservative?

You realize that Obama spoke at Notre Dame right

My posts were intended to poke fun at the original post over on the Kelly thread.. Bob Jones, Liberty, etc. are ultra-conservative but not ND. It would be nice if we could keep it on football.

Hey, do you think they have Gay and Lesbian studies at BoJo? Ultraconservative? Notre Dame? Sure.

Give me Stoops any day of the year. Keep Kelly as your flavor of the year (last year it was Skip Holtz - who is probably better than Kelly), I will take a proven commodity who has won BIG games in the past and can do so again.

And I dont see him as strictly a "SPREAD" coach. When you have 2 players last year that ran for over 1K yards each, and a 3rd that almost hit 500(497). I think he knows what talent he has on the field and coaches to it. Unlike CW.

Not to mention he knows recruiting Texas almost as well as Mack Brown. Just think of the recruiting then. STA pipelineing out of Florida, a steady supply of good players out of California, and what he could add in Texas??

People who say he would be restricted by the GPA needed to be admitted to ND need to think of the plethora of talent that would want to come here. He could have the cream of the crop. Heck in an all perfect world people would want to make better grades to play for him at ND - slap me I'm dreaming.

The upside it too high for ND not to try to get him.
Fight on ND!
