Our best chance at a Great 2010 season lies with Charlie

I personally think, Charlie wins out including the bowl, Charlie is not fired, They end the season in the top 20 and Jimmy and Golden stay and have their last shot at what they came here for in 2010. A National Title.

If Charlie is gone you can Guarantee that Jimmy and Tate will be too, and maybe if Charlie is gone it will be justifiable.

But a new coach will bring a new system, he wont have Jimmy or Tate, and he might not even have Crist until august, so your probably looking at another sub par season.

Let Jimmy Tate and Charlie have their final Journey in 2010, if they succeed great! if they dont its not like they'll be 0-12 and they will have had their chance and Kelly will still be at cincinatti next year.

Can we file this along with your ND will beat USC post as well? I value your opinion as one of the active members around here, but if you think ND is going to sniff a NC game you are sadly mistaken. THe simple fact that USC is the last game on the schedule means that even if ND is #1 or #2 the would drop out of the top 5. And yes I don't believe that this team will beat USC next year. Chalk up another loss to a team ND has no business losing to and I count 2 losses already.

Not so fast my friend. I hear up at scUM they are having a bit of a coaching problem also. I don't think they'll fire him this year, but next year their AD is gone and I don't see DickRod getting any better. That means we'd have to compete against them for Kelly. Kelly is a Michigan guy - coached at Grand Valley State then at Central Michigan. I'm not confident we would beat scUM out for him.

micks's comments are on the money and I have said the same thing. it's time to get beyond Navy and move forward. Too many varibles and much is at stake in firing CW. These guys love CW and still play for him. Poor preparation all around led to the Navy loss. Now they must all be accountable, coaches and players alike. So its time to circle the CW wagon and get behind him and the Irish. Because now is not the time. Don't get me wrong the day of the free pass should be over next season. Make the BCS or else in 2010. The tools are there, make the adjustment on D and play calling, get tough on dicipline and kick everyones ass.

This year was the first year that the players were actually on a nutrition plan along with their S&C program, something that i think Charlie and Ruben pushed for. the strength and conditioning actually seems pretty good to me, have you seen the differenc in Jimmy from freshman year to now or how about floyds guns you see that kid, friggin beast.

i think with a new coach you wont have the teams two best players and how will that exactly elevate the team?

Clausen should go pro to make sure his future is in check. No need for another Bradford. No one won in that situation. I like Jimmy, so I want him to go pro. I'm pretty sure Jimmy didn't suffer a concussion. And the best reason for Tate to stay is the fact that pretty much no one has him in the top 5 receivers who are JUNIORS let alone seniors. Like your positive post Mick and everyone should be lining up behind you wanting the same thing. If CW wins out then he stays for sure and I think all the players do as well. The NAvy game was a fluke and we will be looking to take it out on someone. Not sure what to think if CW loses another game though. Even if he does win out if the D doesn't really show improvement I would like to see a change at DC. What do you think? Keep the positive attitude we need it.

At this point I don't understand how people are getting so negative and show such a lack us respect towards one another! We all argue about what ifs and maybe this etc..... Who cares at this point because none of us are really experts at this game or else we would be in the business! I understand the team made mistakes but most do!

So as true ND fans lets just support our team no matter what and lets wait until after the Pitt game/end of the season before we all freak out!

Man, if this is true...than he really sucks. He has the best wide receiver tandem in the nation...the best qb in the nation and we are 6-3? But they love him? Wow.

I agree. It is really annoying to hear people say we have no shot against the remaining schedule. This team is very frustrating to watch because they play down to competition but they have shown that they do not quit and have been in every game. Yeah this team lost to Navy but they are good enough to embarass Pitt. Whether that happens or not will be seen on Saturday butthey can win out

Its funny to hear people say we have been in every game when the reality is...the six teams we have beat have a combined record of 20-25. Is that saying alot for our program? We kept games close against them and won? Impressive...that is sarcasism for those that care.
