Put the team first, Golden. Your play on the field will get you on Sportscenter. Don't put your team (and especially this defense) in a hole because you want to see your mug on TV.

*sniffs* That is some stinky bait. Again, the discussion is not about whether his antics are "right", or "wrong". It's about not taking unnecessary risks which could lead to a drive killing (perhaps game losing) penalty. No one is "tearing Tate down". If anything, it is the Tate supporters who are being blind. Just because the kid is a tremendous football player, that doesn't mean that he is above scrutiny. I can love the kid's play on the field, but wish he would tone his attitude down. That doesn't mean that I am "tearing him down".

We are NOT blind, we just like winning attitudes. He has it, so dont try and call us blind. We watch the games, we see the attitude, and we like it. You dont because you have determined that football should be a proper game played by gentlemen, its not. It is to be a violent mean game, mentally and physically, between the players. When the game is over, he is a class act above the rest.

I don't want a team full of gentlemen. Jeff Faine was one of the "nastiest" college football players that I have ever seen. He wanted to win! He would drive a DL 20 yards downfield, and then plant him on his back. Then you know what he would do? He'd get up and get his ass back to the huddle. No jawing, no posturing......just hammer your guy, get up, get back to the huddle, rinse, repeat. Same thing with Chris Zorich. All day mean, and would plant a guy then get up and head back to the huddle. No jawing, no standing over him.
