I think Clausen will do okay. I say we run more. Clausen will finish 18-30 298 yards 3 tds and 1 pick. And I also think Washington State is going to hang with us. Final Notre Dame 34 Washington State 28

I'm assuming you're joking, and if you are not I will assume that you recently suffered trauma to your head.

WSU is horrible on Offense and one D. If we don't win by 3 or more TD's I will be highly disappointed. I think Jimmy goes for about 300 3tds and watches most of the second half from the bench.

I know Notre Dame really generally doesn't embarrass teams, for various reasons, but I would love to see us just really blast Wazzou. I mean I want us to really beat them and beat them badly. I would love to see us hang 60 on these guys. For real I think we need a big blowout win to prove that we can beat up on the patsy's of the world, just like every other big school can.

There is destroying a team, and then embarrassing a team. Just remember that what comes around goes around, and it always does. Every so called expert in the country is looking at ND to hang a ton of points this game, if its moderately close you can kiss your BCS hopes good bye.

What have you seen so far that tells you otherwise? Besides a way overrated Nevada team, who have we smoked all year? Way too many homers around here. This is actually starting to get sickening.

Washington State scores 15 points per game and gives up 37.

They get 4.3 yards per play and they give up 7.3 yards per play.

They convert 26% of their third downs.

They gave up 49 points to Cal, the team that couldn't score on USC.

They lost to Hawai'i, the same team we killed in the Hawai'i Bowl.

They have the 116th ranked offense by scoring, 116th in rushing, 61st in passing. We have the 36th ranked offense by scoring and 11th in passing.

What about defense? They have the 115th ranked defense in scoring, 114th in rushing, and 118th in passing.

Our pass defense is just as bad as their's, but overall their defense is much worse than ours.

On offense, we have the best QB in the nation and the best WR in the nation.

This Washington State team is much worse than Nevada at everything. You sir have no ieda what you are talking about. You are a pessimist and you don't even sound like a Notre Dame fan right now.

Here is what I think will happen.

A) Jimmy Clausen wings it all over the field tomorrow night. He goes 30-36 for 439 yards and 5 TDs while hitting 7 different targets (Tate, Kamara, Goodman, Toma, Allen, Hughes, and Rudolph).

B) Golden Tate snags 10 passes all by himself for 212 yards and 3 TDs. Roby Toma scores his first career TD on a short slant in the red zone. Kyle Rudolph emerges as a weapon again en route to 5 catches, 78 yards and 1 TD.

C) WSU struggles and we finally get another good defensive showing.

D) Notre Dame wins 59-14. In addition to Clausen's 5 TDs, Golden Tate takes a punt to the house and the AA/Hughes combo each scores a TD.

E) Golden Tate IV will commit to Notre Dame sometime in the next 30 years after his father has a stellar career in the pros.

Since playing ND, Nevada is 4-2 and averaging 41 points a game. And besides beating SMU in overtime, WSU's closest game was a 13 point loss.

You trying to be a funny guy NDOM?
"Clausen will finish 18-30 298 yards 3 tds and 1 pick." < This quote alone indicates serious head trauma or a disease I like to call Trollanemia!!!!!!! You got to at least admit that. As for how many points they put up on us comes down to a comparison of Nevada's D & WSU's D.

Very true. But your right if this game is anywhere near close BCS is bye bye. A lot of big recruits bye bye. Just my opinion. Maybe they wouldn't read to much into it, but I would. Again I think we need to make a statement tomorrow. In a big kinda way. I mean play with in ourselves I'm not saying in the 4th quarter up 40 points still throw the ball down field. Run the offense. Put our offense out there if you can stop it then you can stop it, to me being vanilla and predictable even up big is more embarrassing to a team. We need a big win in a big way. We also need to smack Navy next week by 21+

There is no shame in running up the score in college. Your entire season is based on what coaches (who can't watch your games) and sportswriters (who probably don't see much of your game) think about you. 56-10 looks a lot better than 31-17.

Naw running up the score is sad. Whats the point. If we are up by 35 why keep throwing it. I want a blowout, but not that way. Let us just overmatch an opponent.

No, we need style points. Look at Navy last year. Don't pull the starters in college ball until it is ridiculous like 40. Why even put in Dayne if he is just going to hand the ball off anyways?

You really think beating WSU will get us that much respect or style points? Just play your game and let the young guys get PT and experience

I agree. We don't even get respect for scheduling them, so why should we get respect for playing them?

ND needs a good playing game like they had against Nevada. I still say leave Clausen in, let him put up his numbers, and sorry to say, but Dayne you can hopefully wait your turn until 2011.

Little too sure...

Little too sure...

I like our chances to whack WSU good...Jimmy'd have to have a rough day to lose...but show a little restraint when someone disagrees...Geez. We were supposed to plow Michigan pretty bad too, or was that too long ago?

I think some of you banged on NDOM because he sees the simple fact that our D makes All Americans out of pedestrians every single week... Jimmy hasn't had anything even remotely like a bad day yet...if he plays like a mortal...given our D...we could get beat by...ya know Syracuse or in this case WS.

Personally, I'd love to see Allen, Hughes, and Grey get some sustained work and give Golden and Jimmy a damned break. Would also like to see Crist get some serious PT.

Most of all I would like to see some discipline/execution in the secondary...hell NBC needs to create a new camera technology so our Dbacks look like they are in the same picture with the recivers they seem kinda interested in covering...sometimes

I don't think you understand how bad Washington State is. Michigan is a decent football team that was playing great when we lost to them. Washington State is the worst team in the nation. Seriously, that was a stupid comparison.

If we don't win by 3 touchdowns there is a serious problem with this team.

Stupid with hindsight there pal...before we played Michigan Dickrod was coming off a horrrible season, was on the hot seat, Mcguffie left (which was supposed to hurt him), and he had two freshman QBs, and a DI AA victory before us...this sight was full of overblown bravado and stats JUST LIKE YOURS...telling us that the past dictates we clobber Michigan...thats the comparison...CLEAR ENOUGH!

Michigan has competed with some solid teams in the pac-10 and has blown out terrible D1/D2 teams this season and have even been ranked in the top 25 at one point. Michigan, although full of young talent, still has talent. WSU is a team that just flat out stinks, from top to bottom. They are young, they suck, and they haven't competed with anybody this season outside of SMU. Huge difference.

You're missing his point completely. You can say that about Michigan NOW, but before the season, before all those wins and close losses, we were all predicting that ND would KILL Michigan. Go back and look at the prediction threads. 42-14 was not uncommon. I too thought we'd hammer them. Their opening win completely changed my mind though, and I'd thought we'd get a very close win (which we should have if not for the most horrifically called game of my life). phgreek's point is that we should in now way assume that ND is going to automatically lay the smackdown on Wazzou, because this team simply hasn't shown the ability to do that since Nevada. Yes, Wazzou is horrible, but so was Syracuse last year. Just saying nobody associated with ND should overlook ANY opponent. I fully expect to see a blowout, but it wouldn't blow my mind if ND struggled...

Stats mean a lot. Stats show that Notre Dame has one of the worst pass defenses in the country and one of the best passing offenses in the country. Stats don't lie.
