All the talk of Clausen, what about this guy? Hes getting triple covered and still making it look easy. I havent seen a gamebreaker like him since Reggie Bush and at ND since Rocket.

Exactly, he is truly our clutch performer on offense. Rudolph can be as well, and it is obvious that defenses are trying to shit down both options, but I have seen them shut down Rudolph in a few games and I have only seen Tate get better with more guys covering him. I truly feel he is the best receiver in the country after the catch, and he is doing it at 5'11 and 190 lbs.

Heisman moment, Taylor Mays attempts a kill shit on Tate at the line, and Tate absorbs the hit, knocks Mays down, and walks into the endzone. The best moment of the SC game for me.

Not that they are shutting down Rudolph as much as he has to stay close to Young - see the intentional grounding play/safety against BC.

I regret saying this, but receivers simply cannot win the Heisman.

Michael Crabtree had something like 1,400 yards and 22 TDs in 2007 and didn't even go to New York.

Agree. I think his system hurt him a little bit. Larry Fitzgerald is another who never really had a chance even though he put up the numbers. The media just falls in love with quarterbacks too much and if they have a receiver like Crabtree or Fitzgerald then you know the QB is putting up good numbers too. Tate's numbers will probably dip down a little with the return of Floyd and because his return should open up room for Rudolph again. I'm just pumped that with McCoy and Tebow not putting up great numbers, Clausen still has a chance.

That's a great point. And it is unfortunate, while I definitely think that Clausen and Tate deserve to be on that list, I also still do think that Ndamukong Suh should still be on there. As a defensive tackle, he is leading his team in tackles, tackles for a loss, sacks, pass break-ups, quarterback hits, blocked kicks, and is tied for fumbles forced and interceptions. I know that they did lose to Iowa State, but he had 8 tackles, a tackle for a loss, two blocked kicks, and a sack on the day. Not saying he should be tops, but it does go to show what an offensive award (more specifically quarterback award) the Heisman has become recently. On a side note, I sure hope it is a quarterback award again this year. :) Come on, Jimmy...

Tate is not your normal WR...he gets A LOT of run plays and returns punts. I never saw crabtree get a handoff up the middle. Tate will do anything to help the team! I think he could win but with Floyd coming back I just do not see it happening!

The only thing that sucks with them both being on the list is that they both will probably lose votes because of the other.

Thats really odd because just 2 hours ago on Sports Center they had Jimmy listed @ 5th & Golden @ 7th.

thats because the poll that you looked at was an expert poll not an espn poll so there for they knew what they where talking about
