Who would you like us to play in a bowl?

I'm going to bed but before I do I'm going to throw this post out there. I know most people don't care it's entirely unwanted but I'd like to clarify a few things about my thoughts and where I'm coming from.

Try watching a game with extremely die-hard fans, whose lives are built on the belief of Notre Dame du Lac. You will hear worse stuff than anything posted on here.

ND has a tough road ahead. I'm rooting for my team, but it will be tough. They are banged up, still young, and still don't have enough depth. I think CW is working on it.

I certainly agree that the road is tough ahead with the exception of Wash St, but I think we can and should win. But to me, that is the question of the whole year for me. I had this team pegeed at 10-2 or 9-3 so they need to almost win out to complete the upward improvement that I think I've seen so far from Weis.

But.......... These last half of the season games are going to be difficult. That being said, this team has shown the resillience I think its gonna take to survive the second half of the season. the BC, Pitt, UConn, and Stanford games are GOING to be tough games, and Navy could very well RUN ALL OF THIS DEFENSE, but I think we pull off the wins by good sound 4th quarters.

As for the Bowl team we play.... I WANT MICHIGAN!!!!!!! we will beat them if we play again. Cinncy and Boise St are good teams that could give us a tough time. I would also like Miami just cause i got a bet that ND finishes bet than Miami this year I think we play in the Fiesta bowl against Cinncy or Boise St if we win out, and if we drop another we play Va Tech in the i Gator Bowl, which I like the matchup.

Alabama - Greg McElroy would be throwing the rock all over the field. Julio Jones would look like a stud and would break a record for broken tackles. Mark Ingram would run for 150+ yards. Meanwhile, Jimmy Clausen would be taking a beating from Terrence Cody and Alabama's outstanding front seven.

Florida - See above.

LSU - Now this is a team we could beat.

I love my Irish, but we could NOT beat Alabama and we could NOT beat FL.

Truth is, we've made very pedestrian QBs look very good. We've made 2 freshman QBs look like Michael Vick and Dan Marino. Our defense is pathetic right now. We've lost 2 close games to a good team and a great team, but we've also won 3 close games against some decent teams.

Let's be real here guys. We can't get stops. And championship teams get stops, period.

Now, I honestly believe that this team will win out. I really do, as long as they show they can get over the SC loss this weekend, which will be tough to do. The talent is there offensively, the drive is there, the fight is there. But in a BCS game, against a quality team, we'd be the underdog and deservedly so. We're simply not in the same league yet as the big dogs. Yes, we hung w/ USC, but we were at home, were down by 20, and the fact is we lost. And I think SC is a flawed team that would lose to FL and Bama this year (because unlike ND, they CAN get after the quarterback).

I'm excited about where we are and where we're going, but remember Mich St and UW before proclaiming that we'd beat the likes of FL, Bama, TX (who I think is wildly overrated but still better than us), or even Boise St. We might be able to hang with some of them, but to say we'd win...let's win a big game first...

I'd say we have a 20% chance to beat UF on a neutral field.

Agree with just about everything except for this. USC does not lose big games. I would love to see USC play the winner of Fla/Bama but Texas most likely will instead. USC will get whatever sacrificial lamb that the Big 10 is unfortunate to send to the Rose Bowl and win by 20+. Just my opinion.
