Weis has lost to USC five times in a row. This is all we are going to get with Weis as HC, we are going to get excited about almost beating great teams....
I definitely think so. You gotta believe, men.
If Jimmy Clausen and Golden Tate return, there is no reason Notre Dame shouldn't be in the national title game come January 2011.
Can you imagine how good Clausen would be with another year under his belt? Tate? Floyd? Rudolph? Allen? Our offense is going to be incredible.
And we return 9-10 starters on defense.
Things are shaping up well for the Irish.

Yes, exactly...........all Weis did today was put in a gameplan that put up over 100 yards over 'SC's per game average, and scored more than 3x what USC's defense was giving up per game. Clearly, Weis is a terrible coach. As bad as the defense was; again, they played well in spots. In the second quarter, the red zone defense was solid, holding 'SC to two field goals, no touchdowns. These are clearly signs of a clueless Head Coach that ought to be fired immediately.
We lost, that is the end all be all stat that we should be looking at here. USC is on a down year, they WILL be much better next year, especially since Barkley will have a year under his belt. Do you even remember what happened last time we ALMOST beat SC, the next year we were supposed to be better, but we ended up getting curb stopped anyway. He needs to go, I don't give a shit about stats, all I care about is wins.
Then go root for Florida. Football, like life, isn't ALL about winning. And, even when it is, you RARELY go right to the top.
How about you go root for Michigan State since you seem to be ok with mediocre season after mediocre season
Have you seen 2010 schedule? Don't we play Okla and Baylor?
I do believe a certain coach in Texas was under a lot of heat for years because he couldn't win the big games which there fanbase wanted him fired. Even though he put together 9 to 10 game winning season. And every year all he did was keep chipping away at recruiting. That coach is Mack Brown..
I'm not ok with mediocrity. Don't confuse my reasoned thinking with acceptance. I anticipate that we need to win out, for Weis to keep his job. I think it would be a mistake, to let him go, but I would completely understand. But, unlike you, I am not looking for instant gratification. Neither am I willing to throw a coach under the bus, because he is improving the play on the field, but not fast enough for me. What's the matter, you pissed off because your buddies at work are going to bust your chops about another loss, and you don't have the mental toughness to shrug it off?
Nope as a matter a fact, no one will give me shit. I am pissed, because every big game we have played in under Charlie Weis we have lost. I am mad, because people like you say the same damn thing year after year, "next year we will be awesome." As for your instant gratification that you claim I want, I have supported him for 5 years, it's time to realize he can't do it and move on.

Even if Clausen and tate and allen and weis all return, We're going to be looking at an extrememly young/inexperienced line next year..... we could be looking at starting 2 or 3 freshman based on what happens in recruiting.... that's usually not a recipe for success.... i think it'd be detrimental to the program to replace weiss after this year. Assuming he runs the table this year We need clausen and weiss to return to prevent a recruiting collapse. Without guys like clausen and tate, a new coach might be hard pressed to win too many football games next year considering the heir apparent in crist has only seen about 20 minutes of playing time.
the only frosh who could come in and start would be henderson
we have robinson and stewart at the guards
and wenger/cave at center...im fine with either
romine at lt...should prolly be getting more pt as it is
then dever most likely at rt or henderson maybe
Wenger and stewart are both seniors.... I think christian lombard might have something to say about not being able to start....
it's concivable that we have two freshman starting tackles if we could get a guy like henderson to committ. I don't see that helping clausen's NFL prospects...
wenger and stewart are in their 3rd years of eligibilty. I dont think theres any chance of Romine not starting next year either...we have one frosh starter at most, hopefully none.
even without freshman starters, we're still looking at two new OT tackles with little to no game experience..... doesn't sound like a winning formula to me, no matter how good our skill guys are
I forgot about Andrew Nuss somehow earlier, but hes played in all 6 games. Romine has played in 3, Cave has played in 6, Wenger has played in 4. I understand the concern but I feel better that we have some backups with experience and that Verducci is the coach.
Just wondering...did you say this after the Tennessee game? How about when Michigan was in like the top 5 and we kicked their asses in 2005? Those were pretty damn big games, and we won. What about ranked Pitt when we were supposed to get killed them? So did you forget those????
Look, if people want to fire him, whatever, be ready to start all over. I'm not going to argue with those people. Enjoy. But let's not forget what those people saw as straight people. We play a ton of good people the rest of the way...IF YOU'RE RIGHT!!!!
