Meanwhile, Carroll basically said that Clausen didn't come to USC because he was afraid of competing with Mark Sanchez.

I think we can all confidently agree with the statement that Sanchez would've beat a true soph in Clausen in 2008. The way I read it, that statement has no bearing on Clausen vs. Barkley. Just Clausen vs. Sanchez. Given Sanchez is starting at the NYG, I'll agree with what poodle says.

The best part of the quote is when Clausen, after saying what Carroll said wasn't true, said he came to ND simply because of CW. He loves that man, for better or for worse. Nobody is going to sell out for the SC game more than Jimmy.
