What we learned from Notre Dame, Week 4

I wasn't talking about that play in particular. One of the things that I have noticed about Tate.........he has great concentration. If a defender has him blanketed, and goes up to make a play on the ball and misses, Tate will still (normally) make the catch. But Floyd doesn't even bother. He just goes up and gets it. If Tate could develop that skill, he would be every bit as good as Floyd.

That and another 5 inches. I can't remember seeing a better WR than Floyd. HE reminds me of Smardjza in his senior year but actually better. The only upside to him being out will be to see who will be the heir apparent. Hopefully we will see someone new emerge strong. Maybe we should convert Riddick to WR since he is mentioned as the fastest player on the team. That is what they said about Tate his first year.

As for what I learned about ND...I learned that we have won 2 games in a row that CW has been notorious for losing the past 2 years. I learned that JC is an absolute stud (but I already knew that). I re-learned that Kamara is a GREAT run-blocker, but a below average receiver.

And I learned that no matter what ND does under CW, there are going to be a fraction of people who cannot and will not enjoy a win; they'll always find plenty to complain about. Yeah, it was a nailbiter, and yeah, I was plenty pissed in that 4th quarter, but a win is a win is a win is a win. And I'll be damned if I'm going to spend my life bitching and complaining about everything under the moon, even after something good happens. The team is flawed, no doubt, but I for one am going to savor every damn victory. Let the complainers complain all day and all night, a lot of it is justified. I just won't join them. Winning is supposed to be fun...let's keep it that way!

I had fun in the second quarter, I had heart pain in the second half. I think they can win every time they take the field I just know that they can do better than what we've seen. I'm hoping to see it all come together against USC.

Gotta agree with this. this is the type of game that they would have lost in the past. They are growing up. Still, gotta thank the Purdue coach for calling timeout, but even if he didn't I think Clausen wins it. Reps to you.

Team is still growing? You mean high school kids do not come in fully prepared? So our d-line might actually get better as the year goes on? A WR might actually step up as well? But Weis can't coach, this can not be true

I didn't learn anything other than the fact that I am now almost completely emotionally numb. On that last touchdown I was astonished that I didn't feel anything. No happiness, no excitement, Just a sense that I have lost interest in almost everything I used to enjoy.

What the hell is wrong with me?

Nothing....The excitement was short lived due to the fact it was Purdue... Couple of things I've noticed from the stands......

1...JC is a stud "finally".......
2...It seems to me that Tate and JC are on different pages. Tate missed a couple blocks and if he's in not involved with the play, he doesn't give 100%....
3....Sam Young.... come on buddy.....
4....Still impressed with our run defense.....
5...Elliot looked unstoppable out there....Who the flip is that!!?!?!?

A come from behind victory against a average big 10...not too impressed...but like everyone says..a win is a win...

I hate to be the one to break it to you, man. But you are turning into a female. Good luck with that.

what I learned

what I learned

They have heart baby and are taking this personally. Also Tate is just what they need to keep 'em loose and produce on the field. How about the green hat on after the game. In todays corporate college football world I thought that was very nice. A good mix of class and shinanegans.

I disagree with you assessment about Tate. He and Jimmy ran a few option routes and Jimmy read A when Tate thought B.

And Sam's been working his ass off... he's just been screwed a couple times by the zebras.

I agree with you 100%. I don't care if they win by 1 point or 30 points, as long as they win. And I also don't care if it's an ugly win as long as ND wins, or if they lose, (I just hope they are competitive). Now ND go kick Washington's *ss.........
