9/19/09 (The Day That Saved Weis)

Well what do you guys think? Did this game theoretically save his job?

I said 10-2 before the season with a close loss to MU/MSU and then a close loss to USC. Maybe I should be predicting a loss against Washington instead, but either way, I still think 10-2 for us and a BCS Bowl.

Who's going to beat us on our schedule? USC, Washington, Pitt, and Stanford seem to be the only 4 who I think could knock us off. I really don't see Washington or Stanford as having the talent to (yes i know wash just beat usc) and pitt hasnt played anyone yet.

This offense is completely different from last years. Michael Floyd's injury isn't going to cut our entire production in half like it did last year.

i like his decision making. Passing on 2nd and 17 on his own 12 was the right move instead of running the ball and hoping our d can shut them down. Same situation as last week except he came out a winner this time.

loved Tate getting that first down. the kid has some drops but he keeps playing hard and tends to step up when needed.

Well, Kyle saved the day. All praise should be bestowed upon him and no one else. All of you know as well as i do that the last drive was set up perfectly for MI St. Tenuta needs to get his guys better prepared, 'nuff said. I'll take the win though. GO IRISH!!!!!!

Yeah, not looking forward to either Wash or USC without Floyd. Sucks when you lose someone of his caliber for the biggest games. Oh well, maybe it will be just a crack and he'll be able to suit up because we are a different team when he's on the field.

that's my worry. we aren't going to make a bcs game if our defense continues to struggle.

1. Let's give MSU some credit. They played a great game and they almost came out on top! They're a good team!

2. A win is a win! Who cares how we got it!

3. It is still to early to talk about this? So is every game gonna be the one that saves his job?

We have been getting bad breaks all year. Michigans bs officiating, Floyds injury, Clausens foot, more bad calls at MSU. McCarthy's pick and thatbad throw by cousins were the first things this year to go our way. Lets hope this is the moment we look back to as the beginning of something truly great

I promise that Notre Dame will take the field next week and beat down the University of Washington. Granted Locker is a more mature version of Forcier and UW will score some points, our offense will put up at least 35 on UW.

I dont like Locker. He scares me. I do believe that we wont be playing the same Washngton team that played USC. Washington played inspired football and had the advantage of USC's former O-coordinator as their head coach and former d-coordinator. Still not looking foreward to having to deal with Locker. Lets see how the Irish play nextweek on the road at Purdue first

One egregious MSU overthrow to a wide open receiver coming out of the backfield on the play before the interception is all that saved us from being humiliated yet again by a VERY mediocre team.....in our house. We are just an average team with a very shaky defense and poor coaching. Truth to tell, we've only got two things going for us - a weak schedule and a storied past (distant past) that romances people into perpetually ranking us higher than we desrve.
