I like Bob, but I hate Colin Cowherd. Cowherd spends more time talking about pop culture than he does sports on his radio show.

In one of his broadcasts, Cowherd spent like five minutes talking about Rock of Love on VH1 and how it was a "skankfest".

I always felt like Davie was a good coach, just not a head coach. He hasn't bad-mouthed ND (that I remember), and seems to appreciate his time there.

very good defensive coach....not a head coach IMO. he has the personality of a wet mop. (and i mean those old skool mops, like the kind your grandmother used.)

I'll have to listen to that broadcast, but he's right about 9-10 wins and our schedule. I don't think Nevada, BC, MSU, Pitt, UCONN, or Stanford are easy wins by any stretch...

I never liked Davie as a head coach, especially when he punts with 2 minutes left in the MSU game (and we're on the 50). Sorry, I was at that game and took it personally.

A typical Cowherd rant:

I dont know why "x" player would ever want to go to "x" city. The weather is terrible. Taxes in that state are ridiculously high. The ratio of good looking women to ugly women isnt advantageous. Ive been to "x" city, I did not like the bar scene. The local television reporter is annyoing. Sure the team is on the cusp of winning a championship, and this contract would make him the highest player in the league. But the lousy weather, high taxes, and ugly women make that a nightmare scenario.

Those of you who have listened to him will know what I mean.

Cowherd is an asshat.

"You ever seen that show Rock of Love on VH1? Man, that is a skankfest. It's got that guy from Poison in it, Bret Michaels. Yeah, that is a skankfest." While right in the middle of comparing the NBA and NFL.

His explanation for why baseball is so unpopular? "People are impatient. They want everything, right now." No, it's because baseball is boring as hell, you freaking moron.

Asshat or not people listen to this silly man, not me as he reminds me of a guy I went to high school with. Anyway here's the thing about this year in a nutshell- are they ready to win close games? Can they take a punch in the mouth and react with the resolve needed to win the game. I think the answer is YES on both issues.

Everybody has been losing to USC almost the entire 21st century. Not just us.

Bob was a little bitter in the beginning. I think he thought he could turn it around. He has been supportive of ND lately. He is a classic example of a great coordinator being in over his head as a head coach, especially at ND. I will say this I do like him as announcer, he is better than anything NBC puts out there.

Get rid of Hammond and Haden and stick in Bob and...JoePa.

I'd like Davie with Haden and Tim Brando as mediator. Brando is not ND at all , but he is fair and loves college football. Davie and Haden could do the 'for and against thing'. I like Haden as he keeps it fair and we all know who he really pulls for but when Notre Dame is good he gives us the deserved credit (Brady Quinn). That other guy is just not very good.

ESPN Radio - SuperStream Player

predicts 9-10 wins. Says schedule isn't as weak as people make it out to be.

I always liked Davie.

I agree wholeheartedly.......Bob Davie is correct......this schedule is easier than in years past, but by no means is it a cake walk. Nevada is good, Michigan State will be very good, Michigan will be loaded for bear, SC is outstanding, Pitt is always ready for a fight and Stanford will be a tough hurdle at the end of the year. If ND goes 9-3, we can be proud.

I like Hammond and Haden.......Haden bleeds SC, but I think he has a deep respect for the Irish. Radio wise, I miss Tony Roberts.......wish he was still calling ND games, what a voice that man had!

Tony Roberts was epic. I've never heard anybody get so excited over a five yard gain.

Wow...that is pitiful.

We really, really need to beat USC.

I agree.
It's long overdue!! But according to cowturd, USC/ND isn't concidered a rivalry. At least not for USC. His opinion, as he slobbers all over USC & the Poodle's *%@$, is that they've had their way with Notre Dame for so long now, that they are just another apponent.

Oh by the way, It's good to be back with everyone here!! GO IRISH!!
