Some teams have a bunch of idiots for followers. You've already heard a lot of my stories, but here we go with more, gathered from posts on the Rivals boards and other hilarious sources.

Michigan fans:

- "Sam McGuffie will be in the Heisman Race this year." That was last year. Friggen lol.

Alabama fans:

- "Julio Jones could have gone straight to the NFL."
- "Notre Dame is too afraid to schedule Alabama because they are afraid of Saban."
- "Bear Bryant would dominated Knute Rockne's teams."
- "Knute Rockne coached in a time where there was no competition in college football."
- "Just because Bear Bryant had violations at Texas A&M, that doesn't mean he had any at Alabama."

Kansas fans:

- "Notre Dame's receivers had just as many opportunities as Kansas's last season."

KU
Briscoe: 92 catches, 1407 yards, 15 TDs
Meier: 97 catches, 1045 yards, 8 TDs

ND
Tate: 58 catches, 1080 yards, 10 TDs
Floyd: 47 catches, 719 yards, 7 TDs

Does that look ANYTHING like equal opportunity? Tate even had more yards and touchdowns than Kerry Meier on 39 less receptions!

Oklahoma State fans:

- "Put anyone next to Dez Bryant on our offense and they would still be a better receiving duo than Tate and Floyd."

Random Rivals topics:

I call these the "dumbass comparison" topics:

- Comparing Clausen and Miami's Robert Marve in terms of who was better. Everybody said Marve. Look what happened.
- Comparing Clausen and Florida State's CHRISTIAN PONDER and who was better. What a freaking joke.

Does anybody else have stupid stories to share?

I live in Tallahassee and I have never heard a FSU fan say that.

I'm sure there are some homers out there who said something like that, but the vast majority knew better.

This is not true, ND would schedule anyone, so long as it was not a home and home. Same deal with Michigan, the school wants as many home games as possible to bring in more revenue. This is one issue where I envy OSU, they will schedule these types of games.

From a USC Scout board:

"Matt Barkley is already a million times better than Jimmy Clausen."

"Matt Barkley is already physically better than Jimmy Clausen, and it's not even close."

From a Stanford fan:

"Chris Badger and Will Hampton switched from Stanford to ND (not Hampton it turns out) because they couldn't pass Stanford admissions, and they knew it, and if you think it was for any other reason then you are clueless."

There's more but I gotta go. Some fansd are truly idiotic...

Is Stanford in the habit of offering recruits they don't intend to enroll ? How classy.

Yah you can see it all the time. The sad thing is I see some really stupid stuff on these boards, that I scratch my head at and think "If some of the fans from the teams we are ripping on I would imagine they would make a post similar to this one in their own forum".

Jimmy Clausen will not throw more than six interceptions this year. Matt Barkley might throw 20, it is definitely possible.

That was a specific fan. And yes, he is a huge homer.

Notre Dame won't schedule a home-and-home? In 2012 and 2013, the Irish are playing Oklahoma in a home-and-home.

On another Rivals thread, there was a huge debate on who is the greatest college football coach of all-time. Irish fans say Rockne, Bama fans are ADAMANT that is Bear Bryant. Here are some of the most ridiculous excuses as to why Rockne is not the best:

"He coached in a time when there was no competition."

"He coached in a different era. There's no knowing whether he would succeed in today's game" Today's game is drastically different from the game in Rockne's day.

"He only coached thirteen seasons. There's no way of knowing whether he would have had continued success." He had one season in thirteen years where he lost more than one game...

The Bama fans completely ignored the fact that Rockne has the highest winning percentage in college footbal history at 88.1%, and that Frank Leahy is second with 85.5%.

Then the Bama fans started bring up their "twelve" national titles. In one of their claimed national title seasons, 1941, Bama went 9-2 and finished 20th in the AP Poll. It was only because of one of the 45746545 polls ranking them #1 that they have any right to claim it. Another, 1973, they lost head-to-head to the real champions, Notre Dame, and only have a claim because one of the other polls ranked them #1.

Everyone besides Notre Dame is convinced our days of success are permanently over. What a bunch of idiots.

And for the coup-de-grace, some idiot on the Rivals boards listed LOU HOLTZ as the dirtiest coach of the last twenty years. LOU HOLTZ? WTF?

Another favorite from USC fans?

"Mitch Mustain will sit and graduate from USC, then go on and become a high draft choice. Just look at Matt Cassell." And actually, you can point at oretty much any USC player that is a backup, and they'll say that they'll be a high draft pick, because Matt Cassell did it (never mind that he's the ONLY one to do that, but why ruin a fantasy with the truth?

**But the truth is, every fan base has their fans that say ridiculous things. I think Phork sad that earlier in this thread, and its true. And yes, Notre Dame fans say some stupid ass things, just like USC fans, unfortunately. My biggest pet peeve from ND fans is this:

*Rational ND fan: "I know recruit X is coming on a visit, but all signs point to him going to school Z and not ND. It really doesn't look good."

ND fan: "Yeah, well everyone said Te'o was a USC lock. I say this recruit is all Irish."

You can put ANY player's name there, and that will be the response. Can we all agree that Te'o was a complete shocker, and for every Te'o and can name you 200 + recruits that didn't come.

We're all a bit nuts, and it's such a long damn offseason that we say some pretty crazy sh!t on these message boards...

This is true. I'd say 75% of us are major homers and share an incredibly large amount of optimism.
