Duval Kamara had an MRI on one of his knees and it showed some cartilage damage. He will have anthroscopic surgery today and will be sidelined about 2 weeks.

Hope he recovers soon and as back getting after it. Never good to lose a possible starter to injury, but it's early in the season and it's a position of depth. Should be interesting to see who steps up: Goodman, Parris, Walker, or Shaq. Even Toma could get more reps...

2 weeks! I would have expected a lot longer than that.

NDinLA, have you always been a mod? Or am I on crack? If it was just recent then congrats!

No, it's been recent, and thanks. And yes, you're probably on crack!

More injury updates:

*Darrin Walls has a slight hamstring pull and will be out the next couple of days, but nothing to be alarmed about.

* Hafis Williams passed whatever medical tests he had, and was given partial clearance. He will be monitored over the next 24 hours, but things point to being good...

I really hope it's nothing to bad. I would really feel bad for him if it is.

on the positive side, unlike previous years, we have depth. Injuries to Kamara and Walls suck but there are players ready to take their place.

I see Kamara falling down the depth chart- he really never impressed me anyways; although at the Blue-Gold game it looked like he had been working in the off season. I want to see what Goodman & Walker have to offer and I hope Shaq pushes for some playing time.

On Monday Weis complimented Kamara (and Williams) for being in excellent shape. Big change from last year.

Never impressed you...not even his first year? Wow! Everything I have read and heard about Kamra was very positive for this upcoming year...he will make an impact this year especially in the red zone. I expect the 3rd WR position to be filled by a variety of people unless someone really steps up!

kamara's injury sucks. hopefully he gets back out there when HE is ready and not hesitant on it. knee injuries take a toll, not only physically but can also take a toll mentally. It is good to hear its cartilage and not a ligament though. heres wishing all they all get back soon.

Also, hopefully walls doesnt come back like a bat outta hell, i hope he works his way up to full go. i had my good friend "tweak" his hamstring our junior year, came back in a couple days, only to pull it and was out for a month.

I am a big fan of Kamara, and he made one or two miraculous catches his freshman year. But I am starting to have doubts. Of course none of my doubts are worth a damn, but... And be careful with surgeries.

Let's rock Duval!

Kamara will prove to be a stud I think. He's not the first player to go through a sophmore slump.

I'm hoping that Tate's and Floyds performance last year lit a fore in his ass. He made the first step by showing up in shape and ready, hopefully thats a good sign of things to coem if he gets back to 100%

NDinLA congrats on the moderator deal.

How are those fires affecting you? Any?

Sucks to lose Duval and I as well would love to see Deion get in on it. Him and Shaq seemed very skinny when I saw them after the game Saturday.

Am I dreaming or was it Kamara that Charlie made wear a linemen number last year because he came in over weight. I could be completely dreaming this up, not gonna lie.

There are enough guys to step it up. No worries, and Duval will come back strong.

They mentioned his name once or twice on the broadcast, and I remember seeing him lay a very physical block near the line of scrimmage at one point in the game. The play didn't go anywhere, but I remember thinking that's the effort we need from a guy that has the potential to get buried on the depth chart. Prove you've earned those minutes.
