Yeah, Fortt hurt me too. really wanted that kid in an Irish uni, but it appears both he and the coaches ahve moved on. As for Kacy, I didn't realize i had him as a Safety. Consider it fixed.

How many LBs do you think we were gonna take? I think 7/11 will be a happy day... and a prospect who would be an overall better player.

I think the plan was 2 LB's, but depending on player developmentand how the recruiting process shakses out could change things. weare still recruiting several players that can play LB
Anthony Barr LB/DE/RB
Hayes Pullard LB/FB
Josh Shirley LB/DE
Tony Jefferson LB/S
Justin McCay LB/WR
and Arimide Olaniyan can still end up getting an offer down the road if he is needed.

You're missing Prince Shembo, a LB/hybrid DE who will announce after he visits VaTech at the end of the month. He's the reason Olaniyan wasn't offered. Moore is going to commit to ND guys, I'm sure of that. No inside info or anything, but reading everything and the timing of it and his freindship with Martin, he's our first LB commit. Then you have SHembo who we have a great shot at. The 3rd LB we hope to get is Anthony Barr. He scares me because everyone assumes he's Irish because he's a legacy, when that is nowhere near the case. He has us even with his other favorites. If McCay commits to the Irish, we'll throw a party and put him wherever the hell he wants to go, numbers be damned.

DE Justin Utupo has committed to Notre Dame

look for more news in the next couple of weeks with announcements by Kendell Moore, Dakota Royer, Matt James, Tommy Rees, and possibly Prince Shembo

Add DB Spencer Boyd to that list, as he'll be announcing around July 17th, with a top 3 of Georgia, ND and Michigan.

We now stand at 10 recruits, and within 2 weeks, it could realistically be 13, with Moore on the 11th (expected to announce Irish), Rees later this week (the timing of his announcement and his comments leads me to believe that he's Irish), and Boyd around the 17th (we stand as good of a chance here as anybody). And just last month, we stood at 4!

Wow thats even more good news (hopefully). I am really hoping Matt James picks ND, this kid IS A MUST GET for the class. Also hearing that Kacy Rodgers could be announcing soon. Doubt he will pick Notre Dame. I know everyone assumes Royer is PSU bound, but that Rivals article gave me a bit of hope. Should be a good couple of weeks

Thanx but i get alot of info from NDinLA, Big If, IrishinFl and pretty much everyone else here.

Yeah, but you took the time to put it together. It's a great reference for people that don't follow it as closely as you or I do. Thanks for that...

Removed RB Malcolm Jones
No big stunner, released top schools USC, Cal, UCLA, stanford, and Oklahoma.
No big surprise here

Its alright about Jones for me. To be honest im really high on both Barr and Dyer, especially Dyer. Think he is going to be a great one for sure. Barr can play a variety of positions. I just hope we can get Dyer on campus for an OV.

This is entirely my opinion. The only RB's we have a shot at this year would be Jordan James and Michael Dyer. I consider Barr a LB. To me Dyer is saying good things but unless we get a visit i think it is just talk. Cameron Roberson is being recruited as a power back/ fullback, and i am pretty sure he will be Irish. Other than James, who looks like a great back, I don't see us in the talk for many TB's.

The thing is, yes Barr is a linebacker, but regardless of where he practices, if in a few years we have more of a need at RB than LB (actually looking at recent recruiting, those two positions are stacked, so no shortage is likely), he could switch to RB. Weis showed with Travis Thomas he'll switch players for need.

No Tanner I project him as a LB. Barr is an athlete and could play RB or DE depending on what suits his skill set best and how much he grows

Committed:
Kendall Moore

Look for the Irish to place more focus on Anthony Barr and Prince Shembo to seal up the DE/ LB for this year.

Removed:
Devon Carrington

Though a soft commit, the Irish are in great positions with their remaining Safety targets, especially Parker and Bailey

Extra:
Look for Chance Carter, Josh Shirley and DeAndrew White to drop from this list soon. Carter and Shirley could be dropped with a Shembo commit as the staff focuses more on the elite players, while White appears to have no interest in Notre Dame.

Notre Dame struggles in Texas

Can you really blame us? Every Texas kid grows up a Longhorn, Red Raider, or Aggie fan. You gotta get through all three of those before we even have a shot! Plus, LSU has been REALLY pulling Texas recruits lately. Distance matters.

T-minus five days until we get Spencer Boyd's verbal. GOt a great, GREAT feeling about this one. He has yet to take a visit to GA... and my gut is telling me yes.
