Catholic h.s. football programs

Always keep an eye on prospects from the Catholic high schools. I taught 25 years in
all-boys Catholic h.s. They have strong academics. great school spirit, consistent discip-
line, devoted faculty and coaches, and supportive alumni. Just ask the NFL coaches about
their alums' record in the pros. Their athletes fit the ND tradition. (No reflection on the
many excellent public h.s. programs.)
Some of the top Catholic h.s. programs: Concord, CA DeLasalle; Los Angeles:Servite
and Bishop Amat; Santa Ana, CA Mater Dei; Fort Lauderdale Aquinas; Honolulu St. Louis;
Chicago: Mt. Carmel and St. Rita; Joliet, IL Catholic; KC Rockhurst; St. Paul, MN Cretin-
Derham Hall; Ramsey, NJ Don Bosco; Cincinnati: Elder and Xavier; Cleveland St. Ignatius;
Phil. St. Joe's Prep; Pittsburgh Central Catholic; Wash. DC DeMatha. 7 of the current ND
players come from the aforementioned schools. Ask Manti Teo about his school Puna-
hou's longtime rival Honolulu St. Louis. Until last season Punahou hadn't beaten the
Crusaders in 20 years.
There are 25 Catholic h.s. players on irish envy's 2010 ND recruiting list: 1 commit;
14 Official Offers; 3 verbal commits to other schools; 7 no Official Offers. The Irish are
certainly going to get some of these kids.

I said not sure because some of our greatest players have come from public high school. But we did get many great players from them too

I was always jealous of Sherman Oaks. Wish i could have worn those Uni's. I beleive Damien is in Glendora, but i alwyas preffered St Lucy's

Seriously, Sherman Oaks Notre Dame has amazing uniforms for a high school team.
Damien is in La Verne, I went to school there, and I always preferred St. Lucy's as well haha. My girlfriend is an alum.

Where you from Jason? You seem to know a lot about the area.
