NeuteredDomer smokes poles, but I doubt he'll be quitting any time soon.

Uh, go to the doctor and have him tell you that your blood pressure is at a dangerous level and that you should quit smoking and start some medication to correct the BP. Ignore him and black out a few weeks later (twice in an hour and a half) and have the paramedics check your BP and find that it is 170 over 135 and they want to take you to the ER. That may not entice you to quit but it did entice me to quit.

i never started smoking and don't plan to, but my dad did and quit. every time he had a craving, he ate a lollipop. he had a bag of them everywhere. in his car, in his room, in the kitchen. i guess it worked for him. lol.

I didn't smoke, but I chewed, and I did the cold turkey. It wasn't too hard, but I had to cut way back on my consumption of alcohol beverages, cause when I was drinking, I wanted to chew.

In the fraternity, one of my Brothers really wanted to quit. So, he gave me the power to do whatever I deemed necessary to get him to stop puffing on death sticks. So, whenever I saw him about to smoke, with a pack, or talking about smoking, I would go over and punch him in the nuts.

It worked. He quit.

I smoked from when I was 15 until I was in the Navy at 21. I tried to quit cigarettes by smoking a pipe. That didn't work. I eventually quit cold turkey; however, it wasn't easy, for several months I even occasionally had dreams about smoking.
