When you listen to the experts (?) quote game statistics in
their predictions, how do you separate the genuine from the
fluff?

Not all teams have the luxury of talented quarterbacks, wide
receivers or a passing attack, so the statistics more common
to college teams are the rushing attempts, yards and ratios.

Compare those stats from 120 team's seasonal numbers (2008)
to the average margin of victory (MoV) and the percentage
(Won) of winning games, you find the defensive stats are
clearly the better predictors.

Below are the correlations or relationships for offensive
and defensive rushing statistics to the MoV and the winning

Can relate. Had a chemistry prof that taught me Boyle's Law, "Today we find the wal-yum!"

and then there was the Honorable Dr. Hsi for Sir-mo-dy-nam-ic. Entropy is still as baffling to me as ND's OLine play.

anyone that majors in engineering should get an automatic minor in linguistics.
