My mother was simply a Michigan fan and of course a Notre Dame fan as well. Quite honestly she really had no choice did she? There's my brother Matt who well unfortunately likes Michigan and then there's me SUPER NDOM who likes Notre Dame.
I will tell you a story that I have never really told anyone at all. Not even my good friend Rogue the dog. Several years back when my mothers health was starting to decline I asked her why does Notre Dame struggle so much? She said well son, "Every team struggles from time to time. Thats just part of life". I didnt really understand what she meant by that because she was known for subliminal messages like that. I asked her when the year of the Irish was going to be? And she said "when my life is over, that will be the year of the Irish" because thats when I will be watching over them and you.
Now I'm sure that her and my brother had the exact same conversation but it still gives me hope. Here's to understanding now mom, as I go through this struggle in life that there's light at the end of the tunnel and maybe JUST maybe that this really will be "Year of the Irish".
