I am excited about Bryant Young joining the staff........ but had we released Weiss, we might have Gruden or Urban Meyer...... just my 2 cents though. It is funny though, I am elated that we were able to land the young Hawaiian..... I thought for sure, he was off to USC after he attended the Syracuse game.

Gruden would NEVER take a head coaching job in college. He doesn't develop talent. He doesn't want to recruit. So, then, why would he take the ND job? Don't believe me Leahy? Look at his QBs the past 8 years. How many inexperienced kids does he put out there?

Gruden said it himself 2 weeks ago...... he doesn't care where he coaches..... high school...college...... pro..... he just wants to coach again. He has history with the program as does Meyer.

No, it's true, he said that. But what Leahy fails to realize is that once a pro team called, Gruden would go faster than the proverbial speeding bullet. He'd be gone. He's a pro guy through and through; he always says that. We might have gotten him for a year or two, then it would have been splitsville and then what? Lose another recruiting class and start all over yet again. It's really a stupid argument Leahy, almost as bad as people saying Gruden should be our offensive coordinator (so that we can revamp our offense completely, and when the kids finally learn it, he's off to a head coaching job).

And when are you going to get it that Urban ain't coming yet? HE JUST SAID NO A FEW YEARS AGO!!! Did his kids suddenly grow up in like doggie years or something? They're not old enough yet for his wife to move them, period. He said as much. So you want to fire another coach so Meyer can say no to us again, then go after Gruden again only for him to spurn us, and we end up with our 4th or 5th choice. Hmmmm, isn't that how we got CW in the first place? You know, the guy you want fired? You started this thread by demanding CW be fired of we didn't destroy Hawaii, and when we did, you come back with some junk about firing him still, losing all of our class so we can take shots in the dark with 2 other coaches??? I'm utterly confused...

Well, I am not going to assume that Meyer won't ever come to take over the Irish program. You never know what the future holds..... I don't know the man personally but I did read where his wife states that Urban left his heart in South Bend..... sounds like he loved his time spent with the Irish. That and he has two trophies with Florida. Maybe he is ready for another challenge. Still sound like a stupid arguement to you????

One more thing, if you are impressed with the win over Hawaii, well then, that says it all.

Hawaii was half the team they were last year....... new coach..... new quarterback...... Let's see what happens next year....... I see though that you really don't want anyone to voice their own opinions here regarding Weiss. If everyone agrees with you, then you are happy, if not, you seem to take offense to that. Sorry, if I offended you by saying that I think Weiss has been here for 4 years and has regressed to put it mildly.

dude he's not even arguing that urban is not coming here, all he's saying is that meyer is not coming here in the near future. it's common knowledge that urban is waiting for his children to get older and off to college (and 1 already has done that) before he pursues the possibility of coming to south bend.

who knows, weis could really turn things around and stay here for a while to come. so meyer may have to wait a bit longer.

NDinL.A. may have strong opinions, but i don't think he's narrow minded.

Wow, way to read what i said and totally twist it. As Tankjeep said, I never said that Meyer wouldn't come. i just said he wasn't coming NOW (thanks tank). I can see him coming eventually, just not now or even next year.

Now, YOU are narrow-minded, because you fail to see the big picture. You were mad we didn't fire CW because you thought we were going to get Meyer or Gruden, which is beyond ridiculous. If we had fired CW for your reasons, we would have ended up with our 5th choice, like I tried to tell you before, and we would have lost out on guys like Watt and Te'o, and perhaps many more (did you hear how many recruits were worried that CW was going to be fired???) That's what i call narrow-minded.

If you want to say they should have fired CW, I wouldn't have argued with you. But this is what you said at the start of this thread:

If the Irish lose the bowl game, Weis should be terminated!
The players should be ready to kick ass and take names!

Did they not do that? You ask if I was impressed, and i say hell yeah I was. Not that we beat a mediocre team, but the way we played, and the way we stomped on an opponent for once. i saw progress, for the first time since the North Carolina game. I'm not happy with the season by any means, and I'm not happy with CW's progression, but he's our coach and I think we're heading in the right direction. You want fired, so be it, I won't even argue, but stop saying bullcrap and expecting no one to respond.

Leahy, you keep talking out of both sides of your mouth. Need another example? Here's what you just told me about Hawaii:

One more thing, if you are impressed with the win over Hawaii, well then, that says it all. Hawaii was half the team they were last year....... new coach..... new quarterback.

And here's what you said to start this thread:

Hawaii is much better than people give them credit for.

So, which one is it? They're much better than people give them credit for BEFORE CW and the boys beat their asses, but now that the game is over they were half the team they were the year before??? Maybe so, but why didn't you say that BEFORE the game?

See, your anti-Weis bias shows tooooooo much. So stop trying to say that I don't let dissenting opinions be heard. Not true. I might come on strong, but I've heard NDOM and Phork be as negative as anyone, and we might discuss our disagreements, but at least they give relevant takes, and they back it up. And I've admitted when I was wrong, even about CW. But when you come on here talking out of both sides of your ass, and you say insane things like we should've fired Weis so we could get Gruden or Meyer right before NSD, then yeah, I'm going to call you out. Sorry.

Anything else insane you want to say that will push this program back 4 more years?
