I can think of ten off the top of my head that are better runners than a guy WHO'S NEVER TAKEN A SNAP BEFORE. That's just bad form IA. It makes no sense. It's ludicrous, ridiculous, unstupendous, and any other -ous word you can think of. I mean, you put Crist up there but not Jake Locker? Are you serious? Watch Nevada vs. us next year, and check out their QB Fitzpatrick. Go watch the Oregon QB. Why not say Aaron Korp from USC? He's never played and he's a runner. I could go on and on, but my Lakers are too busy losing to the Magic. C'mon IA, you're better than that. Bad bad bad...

nevada qb = Kaepernick

Unfortunately USC returns 9 starters from last year's offense, so whoever the starting QB is (Mitch Mustain maybe?) will probably have a big year. I hope he doesn't but he probably will.

Clausen has the ability to be in the top 5. The only thing he has to correct is his choice of passing when his number 1 guy is covered. Who wants a running QB?? Running QB's don't make it in the NFL but maybe 5-7 good years. Plus look at Michael Vick. I don't want Crist to be a runner either, that's what we have tailbacks for.

Who knows how many poor puppies Crist has killed!

NDinLA hit the bullseye on Clausen vs these other guys, I think he will be a fine Pro and will do well the next two years but his legacy will be in the Pros, seriously guys he has all the tools and these first two years have been handicaped with a bad team and just being young, I think he'll win 19 or twenty games the next two years if the team gels the way it should

i hate to say it, but i think mitch mustain of usc needs to be put somewhere in the mix. with all the playmakers around its hard not to. for JC to be put in this conversation he has to show me he can put up the numbers week to week.

Sorry, but Mitch Mustain shouldn't be anywhere near this list yet, and yes, JC deserves to be on this list waaaayyyy before Mustain does. I'll tell you why. When Mitch was a freshman, he was awful. He had 10 TD's with 9 picks, and he had the best running tandem in the nation to take all the pressure off him (McFadden and Felix Jones). Even though the team was winning, Mustain was so bad that they even benched him late in the year despite their winning streak.

Then he came down here to SoCal. Sat out a year, learned the offense, and then despite having the experience of playing in the SEC, and having a year to learn the offense, he was demoted to 4TH (!!!) string at one point this season because he still couldn't grasp the pro-style offense (bye-bye spread offense) and he threw a ton of picks in practice. He eventually made his way up to #2, but even then, in 16 attempts this year, he threw 2 INT's.

And even with Mark Sanchez, who will be a top 10 pick, USC didn't open up their offense until late in the year, and he had a much greater understanding of the offense than Mitch.

So next year, Mitch might not even be the starting QB. They have a much better runner in Korp that they were very high on, and the top QB recruit in the nation in Matt Berkely, who has an absolute hose. Whoever gets the job is going to do a ton of handing off to their stable of stud running backs until they grasp enough of the offense so the coaches have confidence in them. So, I hate to sound like I'm jumping on you on your first post, but Mitch better win the job before anyone even talks about him being a starting QB. And as far as being in the conversation as one of the top QB's in the nation, not going to happen this year. Jimmy deserves to be on that list much more than Mitch...

Given a greatly improved O-line, I predict Jimmy will rank in the top "3" next season. You doubters will have a rude awakening but will still cheer for our Jimmy.

Us "doubters" have yet to be proven wrong. I don't doubt Jimmy, I doubt the play calling and the ability of the Line to get the work in to let Jimmy do his thing.

I predict Jimmy emerges an a Heisman candidate. I think he learns the magic of the "look off" and the "pump fake." He gets more help next year.

Yep, I'm a homey. I still like Colt and Bradford and Tebow though. All are champs.

Seems to me (and you guys seems to be more aware than me, but...) Jimmy and Bradford are more "coached" gametime athletes, and Colt and Tebow are more "plow your ass over and improvise" athletes.

Just a random thought.

82 td's 1 pick

count on it

i do think jimmy will be one of the top quarterbacks next year and will atleast be in the heisman discussion, and may be a heisman candidate. we will have a breakout year next year and it will be led by jimmy. we will finally see why he was #1.

39 tds (2 rushing) 8 picks

I still say he is one of the most accurate passers to come along in quite some time. He throws a great deep ball too. He just has a little trouble throwing into coverage sometimes. He can improve his decision making and he has all the physical attributes to succeed. I would not be surprised to see him in the Heisman race.

Wow, the Koolaid is flowing early this year. I can only hope you are right. Me? I'll reserve the Heisman talk to the Tebows, Bradfords, McCoys and the RB flavor of the month.

no you lie. cuz we all know you wont ;). im serious i think jimmy can throw 37, rush 2, and only throw 8 picks. assuming kamara doesnt cause 10 of them and the line blocks that is. but whatever quinn can do, jimmy can top it. hes a p.i.m.p.

Heisman talk will be all about Tebow, Bradford, McCoy, and a RB/WR. JC would have to beat everyone on our schedule including USC to even be in the discussion and I just do not see it happening this year.
