i honestly dont think this kid is given enough credit for hit athletic ability. He's insanely athletic even if it doesnt appear on film. Since we're facing verona in 2 weeks for our first game, we've been watching film of verona and he is an absolute animal.

Besides Wood and Watt, the next recruits that I am most excited about are the so called "3 stars" Carlo and EJ Banks. I cant wait to see Carlo smash people trying to run up the middle.

Carlo might not have crazy speed, but football instincts can more than make up for that.

Arite boys, it's game week so we went and scouted carlo friday nite at their game scrimmage before we play them this saturday, and he seems smaller than the rivals measurements. But we'll c what he does in a real game this weekend.

Soooooooooooooooooooooo i played against carlo this week and i must say, he is an absolute monster. He may have only had 5 tackles in our game, but jesus, his film does not accurately display his speed, or maybe he just got faster this offseason. Verona used him at eveything, lining him up at WR, FB and TE. As a LB, he was blitzing 75% of the time, but he also has great instincts. In one instance, as i was getting into my stance on the line, he called out the play we were running and i was stunned, because at this level, it takes a real student of the game to be able to do that. He truly is a wonderful get for ND and should be a great LB, due to his speed and incredible strength.

Nice write up on carlos mom and his family. Good to see he comes from such a tight knit community. And looking at the picture on the side, Carlo is a freaking beast. Link below.

Carlo and Verona

Carlo and Verona

Played against Verona again this year, Carlo played well against us and they suffered their only loss this season against us. I played center this year and had to block Carlo almost the whole game. We had over 250 yards rushing in this game, and one of our players is Kelly Tripukas son Jake.

Our team Mountain Lakes ended the season 11- 0 and we will be playing at Giants Stadium this Friday for the State Championship.

Here is a highlight from that game

Folks,
I know that everyone including myself is excited at the proposition of Manti, but this kid should not be overlooked. I renewed my total excitement for this guy when I watched his highlights on UHND again today.
He plays with passion, anger and aggression. I believe he is the type of NASTY that CW has been wanting. I will predict that he is a big time player at ND.
So, I say WELCOME ABOARD CARLO. We can't wait to see you in blue and gold.

agreed a hundred percent. carlo is probably just as good as manti. rankings don't mean shit in all honesty. people on this site are always worried about that. If they can play they can play; stars shouldn't matter.

he has that mean attitude that all great middle backers need. he was my favorite early on and continues. to have him and manti patrolling the middle would be dangerous for any rb to try to run through and no wr is going to want to go over the middle.

jj,
I will agree with you that he may be as good as Manti. He certainly has the attitude. He tackles as well and pursues like a maddog.

Good call jonesman! I was thinking about that myself yesterday. This kid is good.

I think we all get caught up in the latest greatest who haven't committed and forget who we already have coming because we got them so early or because they are not attention sluts. I was also thinking about getting Cierre Wood here and Bullart, Watt and Martin on the Oline. Then, we have not talked lately about Shaq Evans either.

We have some difference makers coming on board, with or without the last couple of possibilities.

I will take that a step further and say that we also forget about the sophomores-to-be. Posluzny, Cynar, Goodman, Newman, Walker. These are all players that, even though they didn't see the field this year, could be difference makers as well.

Calabrese is a beast. I am really excited about this kid. He looks like he is ready to play right now.

Yep- that enforces that point about forgetting what we already have- I can hardly wait to see Walker and Goodman to help the receiving corp, and Gray to get more snaps at RB (or returns) Plus Cave on the line w Clelland, Fauria w the TEs.........and those are just the Offensive guys!:gbanana::headbang::rockwoot:

"The team is as strong as your weakest man," Calabrese said. "Everybody has to be pretty great to have a great defense. He gets on everybody for that. I appreciate that because I want somebody on me if I am slacking."

I love that.

Expect this guy to play very well this year. Gotta love what good competition does to make a guy raise his game.

It's my understanding that none of those kids are even from Jersey. Most are New Yorkers.

Several of them also don't have a single drop of Italian blood in them.

Either way, they make people like me who live on the JerseyShore vomit a little.
Thus ends this abomination of a digression, back to how kickass Carlo is going to be this year :)

My boy Carlo has decided to take things into his own hands this spring. He dropped 5 lbs and has been running and doing extra cardio. In informal running drills he is "running Fox into the ground". When they put the pads on he intends to bury him. In the recent strength test he benched 225lbs. 21 times which placed him #3 on team.

Neither Kelly or Diaco have had much conversation with him as to what happened last year so he has decided to make them take notice this year and kick some *** in practice. If you own stock in Fox I recommend a sell.
