Am i the only one who is just a little worried about Kennards size- little on the small size for DE? I guess I am not used to the 3-4, where the DEs and OLBs often are interchangable - sometimes with their hand down, sometimes up?
I see him as a 3-4 OLB.

Same here. I still have to get used to the interchangable terms used- because I just see him as too small to play with his hand down. But what do I know. :whoknows:

He's 6'4" 238! He could easily play with his hand down

Yeah, with a frame that is 6'4", he's got a lot of room to grow. Depending on how hard he lifts, he could easily put on weight. Don't forget, his dad played in the NFL, so, if he wanted to bulk up to 255, or so, it wouldn't be that hard.

And if I recall he was pretty good size. Hey OC what is Newman's Law?

All riight- I was looking only at the original post on 1st page that listed his size as follows:

Devon Kennard - DE (6'2"/225lbs)
Desert Vista HS (Phoenix, AZ)

That was generated my comments about his size. If in fact he is 6-4 and almost 240, then my comments are moot.

Phoenix Desert Vista defensive end Devon Kennard was on the practice fields but did not participate in camp. The 6-foot-4, 238-pound Kennard visited USC and UCLA this weekend.

He has also been to Arizona State and Texas and said he will take other trips before making a decision. Rivals.com rates Kennard as the eighth-best prospect and the top defensive end in the class.

Although ND is likely the underdog in this recruiting fight, they remain busy keeping in contact with Kennard and his family.

Devon says he plans on making trips this summer and ND is likely one of them.

Per Scout, trims his list to five. From his profile, looks like its ASU, California, Texas, UCLA and USC.

he may very well be 6'4" 238, but most HS players and even collage players have their physical stats padded. Just one example is Beasley from KSU who listed him at 6'10", but at official workouts measured closer to 6'7". Either way this kid will be special, it's a bummer we didn't make his top 5.
