So who thinks we still make the Ncaa Tourney? Me personally? We are headed to the NIT.

even if they do make it, I think it will be a quick exit. it may better serve ND to go the NIT. I think they could do some damage in the NIT. Not enough quality wins this year, and the national televsied game Vs. UCLA didnt help much in the eyes of critics. Especially now that UCLA lost to Wash. St at Pauley Pavillion. Would you rather see a quick exit in the tourney? or see them make a run in the NIT?

well first of all it was a 26 point loss, not 39, but that is neither here nor there. Texas is a quality win, even that have had a down year, they did take down OU the other night, and they will make the tourney.

Bracketology - ESPN

That is today's bracketology. I dont understand how he has us as one of the first four out, but has us in the bracket as a 10 seed in the midwest. obviously an oversight on one end or another.

i still will not make a prediction, but we have played our way back into discussion.

Is making the sweet16 better than winning the NIT?

ND is a true bubble team, non-20 game winner. the type of teams you see that win the NIT every year.

The feb 28th UCONN, and Mar 2nd Villanova games will determine their fate....

This is a veteran team, so I dont think winning the NIT means a whole lot. If this were a young team that could benefit from extra games then maybe. But a veteran team should want to make the NCAA's and just take their chances, IMO.

Notre Dame down by 9 points at halftime to RUTGERS!!!!! I'm not saying that its over yet but this is just absurd. No excuse to be losing to Rutgers by 9 at halftime especially at home. This just another reason of many that we dont belong in the big dance. I dont even think we belong in the Nit at this point. What a dissapointment.

Excellent point; for a veteran team, winning the NIT could be anti-climatic. Maybe the best outcome is to make it to the big dance, and take their lumps there.....Now they just have to make it to the NCAA's.

calm down. we won. that is all that matters. villanova only beat depaul by 2 last night. depaul who is winless in conference. I am very very surprised with all the big east basketball you watch that you still dont get that any team can win on any night. what more has to happen in this league to prove that?
