Sanchez is gone at sc Stafford is gone at uga Harrell is gone at tt. So i was thinking in my head who are the 5 best qb's in CFB next year. Here's my list.

1.) Colt McCoy - Always been a fan of his, good kid, great ballplayer.

2.) Sam Bradford - A lot like McCoy, just a good humble kid with a cannon.

3.) Tim Tebow - His on field antics are wearing thin, and he seems almost too perfect, but you can't deny the results.

4.) Jimmy Clausen - Yeah buddy thats right, JC, just needs to cut down on the picks but he is definately one of the top five QB's playing CFB in 2009. Scary accurate when he gets time.

5.) Terrelle Pryor/Daryll Clark - I wasn't sure if Daryll clark is moving on or not, if not he takes the five spot outright. Two very similar Qb's, while Pryor can definately hurt you with his feet, his arm could use improving and another spring practice should help. Clark can kill you either way and if he is coming back penn state could be in the drivers seat for the NC game.

So there you have it my top 5/6 Qb's in CFB next year, i would like to hear peoples opinions on this list and see other peoples lists.

Also i think this list could be renamed preseason heisman hopefuls since the trophy goes to the qb of the highest ranked team.

LMK what you guys think.

Alright enough praising Jimmy before the season even starts. He will be a top 5 qb if he learns how to run. Seriously he can't move. Watch out for Ryan Mallet too coming back for Arkansas. Jevan Snead from Ole miss too. There are many qbs as talented or better than Jimmy.

1) Tim Tebow has 2 NC's and is a man amongst boys. He's not the prettiest QB out there as far as throws, but everything you wnat your team to do, which is WIN, he gets it done. He's the top QB in the nation simply because there's nobody better as a college QB. He runs and throws, and his team puts up major numbers and wins games.

2) Bradford and McCoy. They are both college studs. Both have great touch. Bradford has a bigger gun and way more pro potential and interest. Out of the top 3, Bradford has the most pro interest (and a great arm), but he doesn't know how to drop back yet like a pro, which is why he was smart to come back. Speaking of dropback QB's, that brings me to...

4) JC - I love the choice, and you won't hear any arguments from me. In fact, he has more pro potential than the other IMO because he already is in a pro set and knows how to drop back and scan defenses right away as opposed to sitting in a shotgun all day and slinging it around (There's a reason you don't hear the Texas Tech's QB's name as a top QB draft pick). The only thing that worries me is his size, as he gets a lot of passes knocked down at the line. Hopefully he can build on his incredible Hawaii Bowl performance.

I was looking at position rankings for the NFL draft and came across some early rankings for the 2010 draft from walter football. Here's the QB ranking. There's a brief synopsis of the player as well where they are projected to go via the link below.

1. Sam Bradford
2. Tim Tebow
3. Jake Locker
4. Kevin Riley
5. JC
6. Dan LeFevour

Jimmy Clausen? For real? Are you SERIOUS? Not even close to the top 5. Stop being a homer already. I would put him around 15th or so but top 5? Thats hilarious.

Tim Tebow is a fine young man who is absolutely adored by the Gator Nation. His success however is contingent on having an offensive line that gives him at least twice as much time to deliver the ball to incredible receivers, like Harbin. When Jimmy is given that same time, he likewise delivers....mostly touchdowns. Lets hope 2009 and Verducci shows the true ability of Jimmy...I personally think he has tremendous potential to be one of greatest qtrbks..ranking up there with Montana.

Jimmy Clausen has top 5 potential but he has not been consistent enough to be considered in that elite class. Throwing 20 interceptions does not make you one of the best 5 quarterbacks in the country the next season, despite how good his bowl performance was.

I really hope the offensive line/running game can be fixed b/c only then will we get to see how good Jimmy can be.

Agree with the bold 100%

As for your first statement and NDOM's statement, go check out Colt McCoy's numbers as a sophomore. 22 and 18 picks. Not much better than JC's huh? And he played his entire freshman year for a real team, while JC played half the year for a JV high school team with a bum elbow.

So no, we're being homers when we say he can be a top 5 QB next year. He was a top 10 QB THIS YEAR until teams adjusted to ND and we never adjusted back until Hawaii. And he still had an awful line with zero running game (he also lost his top receiver for a few games near the end). Next year he returns everyone, with a new line cpach which YOU (NDOM) have been begging for, and this offense will be VERY good next year IMO, and JC will be leading the way. You got a glimpse of it against a bad Hawaii team, but you'll see it next year...

thats my point: not many thought McCoy was definitely a top 5 quarterback after his sophomore year (probably just on the outside). he clearly had a lot of talent and had yet to really take his game to an elite level on the field - like he did this year. If JC's career takes the same path as Colt McCoy we will all be very pleased. I did not mean that JC did not have the ability to be a top 5 QB (he has the ability to become the best passer in the country), just that right now i don't think he has done enough to deserve such lofty praise.

I was going to say, drop Clausen and add Snead. This kid throws balls like I have never seen.

Based on pro potential

1. Sam Bradford- Kid has it all except for being fast. Has great pocket presence, accurate as they come and is a good leader.

I think JC is behind Snead and Sanchez at this moment in time. I truely believe he will develop into a top 10 pick next season...A lot of this is based on our o-line play.. If we can actually have a consistant run game (which all of the top QB's do, and has decent pass protection) This kid is money. When he's given time, he is as accurate as it gets. He also show competivness which is invaluable in a leader..

Jimmy is as good as it gets. His time will come. Bradford and Mccoy and Tebow are unbelievable athletes, but they have help. And playing under better offensive schemes.

I favor Mccoy first, Bradford second, then Tebow. Mccoy is badass. Unbelievable.

But Jimmy is my pup. He lil dog next year. Sheeiittt. Summunabeetch!

Yep. He is top 15 and has top 5 potential but as of now he isn't top 5.

I agree with this too. But his decision making at times is baffling. Hopefully he continues to improve. Some of the throws he makes on a weekly basis are incredible. Although some weeks those were to the wrong team. He has the talent, now he needs to put it all together.

im not going to base anything on pro potential, because i really dont care about the pros, we are talking the best qbs in college football. so here it is, IMO.

1. Tim Tebow
2. Colt McCoy
3. Terrelle Pryor
4. Sam Bradford
5. Dayne Crist

What can i say guys, i like quarterbacks that can run....and i couldnt think of anybody else who i think is great so i added Dayne Crist. Pretty much because i think he will be better than Jimmy, and could be better next year, but probably just wont get a shot. its all just my opinion, i know it will probably piss ppl off or something. but oh well.

I can think of ten off the top of my head that are better runners than a guy WHO'S NEVER TAKEN A SNAP BEFORE. That's just bad form IA. It makes no sense. It's ludicrous, ridiculous, unstupendous, and any other -ous word you can think of. I mean, you put Crist up there but not Jake Locker? Are you serious? Watch Nevada vs. us next year, and check out their QB Kaepernick. Go watch the Oregon QB. Why not say Aaron Korp from USC? He's never played and he's a runner. I could go on and on, but my Lakers are too busy losing to the Magic. C'mon IA, you're better than that. Bad bad bad...
