Why Would Urban Come To Notre Dame?

The Olympics seem to have fairly universal appeal. Check the ratings. The four year gap is a valid point, niche is not. The money that NBC rakes in from advertisements speaks to the contrary.

ok. rank the 5 sports networks anyway you like. Tell me who covers more, with more depth and who is recognized as a sports leader. Or how ever you like. Rank the five of them and tell me how NBC is not 5th. and who they outrank.

I didn't disagree with your conclusion, I disagree with the facts you used to reach the conclusion. I wouldn't say that Sunday Night Football and the Olympics are "niche" sports. NBC just doesn't have enough offerings to complement the aforementioned.

true. I just mean that NBC is more into sports marketing than sports coverage. It is a shame. I loved Sundays with Costas and "NFL '84" and things like that. NBA on NBC .. etc

Can you guys put this arguement in its own thread so I do not have to see Urban's name until he starts stealing our recruits again and promising them the moon!

Yeah i forgot how promising the moon means starting on a national championship team(Trattou) and actually seeing the potential to win big time games. Man those guys are so dumb that they didnt come and play for charlies medicore teams thus far....am i the only one that can see why a kid might choose flordia over notre dame at this point?

Meyers press conference from last night made some good headlines, which pretty much all repeated the things he said in the press conference to calm Flordia fans, but he also said ND was is dream job, and will probably always be his dream job. articles in the southbendtribune, nbcs notre dame central, and rivals have all reiterated his statements.

Maybe we can win a national championship without him in his dreams.

Scary thing is, I saw the "leave Brittany alone video..." The poster "aficionado" in the video you posted seems to be the only one who "gets it."

Still friggen laughing.

I guess it comes down to what you want in life. You can say that you were part--by part I mean practicing and cheerleading on the sidelines--of a national championship team or you can make a tangible difference for a team attempting to gain (or regain) prominence.

I guess the real question is this: Do you love playing football or do you love the idea of being called a football player?

Met a female feminist. She loved "standing up" for womanhood, but couldn't stand the one or many she was with. IMO, Ty stood up for race, but couldn't coach a goddam team. Know a "manager" who stands up for whatever, but can't do the goddam job himself.

Do your friggen job or go home.

Lead, follow, or get out of the way.

Notre Dame may win its next national championship in 2011 with Urban Meyer as the head coach. Also talks about Teo possibilities, Pozlusny starting next season, this years Hawaii bowl game, and Issac Holmes, a possible Notre Dame DT recruit to fill out the 09 class. Link below.

Good article. I got a kick out of this quote:

"I know what you're thinking. You're thinking, 'Bianchi, you moron, are you trying to say college football is as important as the sanctity of marriage?'

No, I'm not. I'm saying it's statistically more important than the sanctity of marriage. How do I know this? Because I have a number of friends who've dumped their spouses, but I've never known one person who dumped their college football team."

I've heard it said that you can change your houses, spouses and careers and even gender but never, ever change your team. There's something to be said about a person who changes teams like they change their minds.

Lol, even though I am of the opinion that he will never leave Florida for anywhere but the NFL, I have to admit, all these articles and his statements about ND being his dream job amuse for no other reason than how much is pissing off UF fans.

Hell, you and your team that is all that is constant for the rest of your life. You pull for them through thick and thin. Nothing like watching a lifer fan get pissed at all the bandwaggoners when his team has a good season. (been there myself just not in the last decade and a half). They say USC has the biggest bandwagon of anyone. Even in Cali.
