Last year just was flat out-the worst. This year.... was disappointing. I think every real ND fan has it in their head that "THIS IS THE YEAR!!!!!!!!" and we should've got our strut back this year and next year have our swagger. Thinking that we were going to go from 3-9 to 11-1 is not realistic. When it didn't happen all the bleeding whiners out there are having a great time screaming "OUR TEAM SUCKS!!!!!!! WWAAAAAAAAAAAAAAA"

Either way-we'll be better next year. 9-3 or 10-2 or better.

Last year was worse. We went into games last year knowing we'd lose. This year there was at least some hope going into every single game. This season has been disappointing, no doubt. But 6-6 is better than 3-9 regardless of expectations.

The overall thought wasn't that the team was going to go 11-1. If I can recall there were posters getting smashed for not having their feet on the ground. Nobody that I can remember in the beginning of the season thought they were going to be undefeated going into SC. If you can look at previous posts you would be hard pressed to find that poster.

The thought was that the team would progress. When the team didn't you had most fans disappointed and frustrated. That's all.

Constructive criticism is healthy. If you can't handle it then don't read the forums or post in them.

This season was far worse because we looked like the same team we were in 2007 during the second half of the season.

I take some exception to your first sentence in which you characterized our exepectations coming into this season as "realistic". I was guilty of having some very unreal expectations of the team for 2008 as were the majority of ND fans here and elsewhere. I would like to think that I adjusted my exepectations in the wake of the losses to Michigan State and North Carolina. To my disappointment, even after I rethought my position, my readjusted expectations were still not met.

I would have to agree with ND Montana. At least last year after a couple of games we knew what we were in for and were expecting it. After lucking out against SD St. we then went on to win some games and I think everyone got their hopes up. We finished last year looking better than we look right now. Our team last year would have taken syracuse apart. If CW would have let Walker kick the FG last year we could have escaped the Navy debacle. I do think we were competitive every game this year (even BC our D was great) with the exception os the SC game. We did show we had potential this year just like at the end of last season. We finished last season showing we could run the ball well with Hughes. What have we done this year on the ground. I am confused but if we beat Hawaii I will change my answer.

I got the same feeling while I was watching the Syracuse game. I honestly thought the 07 Irish would have at least won that game. Beating Hawaii would be a nice springboard into 2009 and beyond.

Believe it. We gonna win soon enough my friend.

We may not hit 9 wins next year, but we gonna win some and lose some. And everyone on this forum still gonna be an ND fan. Some a bit more disgusted than others.

I may disgust you just for spite at any loss. Like piss on your lawn. (But it saves on water bill, and helps flowers grow - win win kinda thing...)

Got any puppies?

I am lost Neutered, what do you mean? Are you wanting to buy a puppy? I am just a fan not a dog breader.
