I have been a fan all my life. One of my good friends uncle played on the 88 National Champiionship team and he came to our 3rd class to speak, since then I've become an obsessed fan.

I never had the grades for ND which is something I regret. I went to ASU but I definitely bleed blue and gold.

Just a fan (too obsessed!). Grew up Catholic, and my best friend's family was obsessed with ND football, and so Saturdays became ND football day since I was about 7. I too didn't have the grades to get in as a student (stupid me).

My fiance grew up in South Bend and went to ND, and she came to L.A. after she graduated as part of a volunteer program. Luckily for me, we met and started dating, and she decided to stay in L.A. But her father works for the university and has season tix, so we make it out for a game once a year. We'll be getting married next August in the church she grew up in, and our reception will be in the South Hall on campus. Hopefully the damn humidity will take a break for a day!!!

really.. never met him. He has done a good job with the baseball team though.

i know a lot about him having played for him. he gets off on messing with young kids' minds. i am honestly shocked he's been there so long.

Just a fan. My Grandfather-In-Law graduated from Notre Dame so the whole family are fans, but I was a huge fan some 14 years before meeting my wife. My family's ancestry is Irish, so that's my connection.

A good friend went there and my family priest went there as well. Both were Irish Guards (you know..the guys that wear the kilts) anyway my first game was in 1987 against Michigan State and it was a night game. Tim Brown ran back 2 punt returns for touchdowns. I have been hooked ever since.

I grew up Irish Catholic. The love of the Irish came from my Mom. My great grandfather used to listen to the Knute Rockne led Irish on the radio and passed his love down to my Mom. She and her Mom would make the trip into LA every other year the Irish would come out to play SC and they would be there at Union Station to greet the team when their train came in. I grew up watching the Irish and hating SC. Played against Todd Marinovich in high school. I hoped to play hoops for ND, but was not offered a scholarship, so I went down the road to Valparaiso and lived the ND life vicariously through my girlfriend at the time who went to ND and lived in Farley Hall. Now, in adulthood, I bleed blue and gold. Converted my wife (with the help of Brady Quinn, of course) and now she is an avid Irish fan too even though she went to Cal Poly.

LOL. My girl's claim to fame was that she once served Quinn a sandwich at the campus deli she worked in. (He doesn't like pickles.)

I grew up in a Catholic home and went to a Catholic school here in MA. during the "Era of Ara". Like Rudy's father, the only game my father had on in my home was ND. Saturday afternoon's were spent watching ND on tv or listening to the prodcast on the radio. I still carry on that tradition today. I was not smart enough to go to ND as a student or rather didn't apply myself to studies enough to get into ND. In fact, I didn't study at all-it is a wonder I even quaduated from school.

I know what you mean about applying yourself. My buddy have always said that when we have kids, in about their 8th or maybe 9th grade year, we'd take them to ND and around the campus, and hopefully to a game. And basically say, "Do you want this? Work and it could be yours." If someone had done that to me, who knows?

now you have to start them at 6 yrs old. they have to be student body president, feed the poor, counsel the elderly, play 8 sports and be captain of all of them, get perfect score on all entrance exams and at least have a 4.0 GPA.

My lady (who graduated 2+ years ago) said that she prob couldn't get in nowadays and her dad works at the university; that's how bad restrictions have gotten...

My dad went to ND and graduated in '67. The tie with Michigan State was his senior year. My mom went to St. Mary's next door to ND. That was before ND was coed. So my brothers and I grew up in an ND house. My older bro went to Duke and I went to Tulane. My older bro actually went to Duke for 4 Final Fours in a row ending with a championship. Have been to ND on many occasions for games. Also have seen them on the road. Even snuck into Cameron Indoor as a student and was at the Spectrum for Duke v. Kentucky - Grant to Laettner. Nothing to do with ND, just bragging. To be sitting is an arena that is dead set against Duke and everyone going nuts for Kentucky, and have Laettner hit that shot. The best.

Fan of Notre Dame since 2nd grade, only one in my family because i live in buckeye country. Love the fighting irish, follow them religiously, which can be good when we are winning, and sucks when we are losing. Live just outside of risingsun OHIO, or about 15min from Bowling Green Ohio is a better way to put it.
