Current players if Weis is fired

Recruits obviously will change their minds, that happens any time a coaching change is made. As far as current players, I think that is too hard to tell. We dont know what each player is thinking.

I think it depends on who they hire if Urban(i doubut it ) comes here then we may get some more 4 and 5 *

ummm...we had the #1 recruiting class last year...you might have missed that part...in fact Weis got a higher star average with his class than Meyer.
So, Urban might set us back a bit?

oh God forbid we lose Jimmy the most overrated QB in his class..... maybe forgetting we have a better QB behind him in Crist all IMO.
And as for the biggest urban meyer HATER out there, lovemyirish, i bet u forgot Flordia was #3 in 2008, and #1 in 2007, so i dont think he would set us back at all. Oh yeah, and his freshman and sophomores are performing 4X better than Notre Dames (minus maybe Floyd, but he is injured now). Admit it, Urban was right in not coming to Notre Dame in 04....he had a better opportunity in Flordia because Notre Dame admissions have RAISED academic admissions since the last time ND was a legitimate college football powerhouse(remember when he was here on staff)...... he asked for legitimate good changes to coach here, and they wouldnt budge because ND is stubborn. So he went to where he could compete and win, and spend time with his family. Lets hate the guy for being right, thats good logic. Notre Dame recruits obviously think alot about the guy...... he has won many more battles than lost between Charlie and him when it comes to recruits. STUPIDITY!

Half the sophmores and freshman playing at Flordia would not even get into ND. Urban "Lier" can stay in Flordia with Omar for ever!!!!!! Urban as the face of ND is a VERY scarey thought!!!!!

That's what I don't understand. Why commit to playing at this level of football if you are not going to be giving it your all. It really looks as if some guys just go thru the motions.

Yeah it pissed me off when Robert Hughes got spoken to on the sidelines after that scuffle. Hell. I'm glad somebody wanted to fight.

i know toryan cost us a penalty but him diving into the endzone against navy was great. charlie immediately jumped his sht. that pissed me off bigtime.

Exactly, I'm not sure if Weis has inspired this attitude in these players, but it seems it has spread through the rest of the team. I suggested in another post to pick up Will Muschamp from Texas. That guy has some fire in his belly and his players do to. ND needs what I call 70's muscle, guys that are more substance than style and eat nails. I think that's the most important thing missing is the attitude. I had a talk with a local retired high school football coach who is also an Irish fan and has a few state championships and I mentioned that CW just does not motivate the players. His response was since when do players need motivation to play football. I want Weis gone as much as anybody, but its true these players need the fire they are not showing regardless of the coach.

yeah, your right, they wouldnt get into Notre Dame now, but they would have in the late 80s and early 90s....remember those days?...... back when notre dame was actually good at football. he would coach the players we have right now better than weis has or ever will. oh yeah, and if your going to call urban meyer a liar, you might want to spell it right next time.

LOL @ you spell checking! It is a freaking message board and I have used that phrase 3-4 times in the last couple days and spelled it fine! Get off your high horse! I hope we NEVER find out if he can coach these kids better then Weis. Urban Liar was a name I have seen used on this site thousands of times especially when refering to Meyer's recruiting tactics. i have no idea where all this love for Meyer is coming from on this board but I see most of it is not from too many regulars!

Different game all together. You have to keep your emotions in check going for that putt. Not too up or too down. Football you play smart but pissed off/excited. There is more emotion involved...

I know. Actually, I wasn't bagging on your post. Should have been clear about that. I back your point about emotion. I was using golf as another example. I know you have to channel that energy in golf and it's different, but you still need that drive and emotion to go out and hit 1,000 balls a day. And Tiger's got that killer instinct where he just wants to destroy the course. Different but same.

meyers recruiting tactics are the same as charlies, if they are looking we are looking....just because players wanted to play more for urban than for charlie, doesnt make urban a bad guy or a liar, it just shows he is a good recruiter.... there is absolutely no proof he has lied to any of his recruits ever.
