In all honesty..... I would love to see Urban Meyer as our coach. Weis just cant and wont get it done. I dont even care if he beats Usc. He's gone in my opinion.

Is anyone watching the Boise State-Fresno State game? The coach that is coaching the team with far less talent than ND has is putting it to the other team. He should be our next coach.

Chris Peterson(sp?) can flat out coach

Oh and dont say Fresno isnt much of a challenge because both of these teams would wipe the floor with us.

I watched NFL network today and one of the guys on the college now show said that it was 95% certain that Charlie is done. He said the leading candidate was Brian Kelly but also said not to rule out the top teir coaches becaude ND is willing to pay the price for the Meyers and Stoops of college football. I think that a new era might be starting.

Lou Holtz for the next 3 years to right the ship, then maybe Urban Meyer to take over.

I want no piece of Brian Kelley. He can coach but he is a total prick. He wasn't passed over for interviews for the MSU and Michigan jobs for his lack of coaching ability.


The Butch Davis rumor is from the 4HL. Just a rumor but supposedly he may have been contacted.

Ok heres my thought.

Weis is a great person and does alot for the program. He recruits very well. He started the Hannah and Friends foundation. But he cannot win football games. He cannot beat the teams that should be beaten and he CANNOT develop players.

So what if a future head coach candidate is a "snake" or a "prick". If he can wins games that he is suppose to win and beat teams that are ranked, then why does it matter on the guys personality? Kelly, Urban and Peterson can all develope players of any skill level into a better college football player. They can motivate players to be ready for saturdays. Something Weis has problems doing.

This is FOOTBALL! Not sunday school!!!! Get a proven winning college coach and see what happens to this ND football program. It would be like Night and Day.

I think Kelly will be hired after this year....honestly

If for some reason CW is fired, how about Jon Tenuta replacing charlie as the HC? At least this could be temporary until they can land that High profile coach. He has a bunch of college football experience and probably wouldn't be that bad of a HC. Just a thought.

Temporary for the bowl game, but no further. What Kansas State did with Snyder absolutely REEKS of desperation.

This is Notre Dame football and what the coach stands for and believes means a great deal.

Because this is ND. And a HUGE part of the ND mystique is not so much their winning tradition, lots of schools have great winning traditions. What makes ND special is their winning tradition while "doing it right". They may not always be squeaky clean, but they are rarely too close to the line and most often are far from it. Other teams have had to sell their academic integrity and collective character, to acheive success on the gridiron. ND has not, and has still succeeded.

Urban Meyer. thats it. No one else. I want somebody who wants to be the best in everything to do with football and producing great men after football.....guess what, he is it.

I'm still with Charlie for at least one more year, but seems the best ND coaches were highly intense mofos, Singletary reminds me of that intensity.

When Baylor fired Guy Morriss, everyone thought Singletary was a done deal to come to Baylor. MS was interviewing at Baylor for about 10 days straight. At the last minute, the AD Ian McCaw said thats not the direction we want to go and hired Art Briles. AB seemed to be the right choice thus far, but I doubt Singletary would want to try again if Briles jumps ship soon. But Singletary would fit well in ND's program
