After 4 years of Weis, we didn't belong on the same field as USC.

PADOMER, the plan will be EPIC FAIL. All ND plans are EPIC FAIL. No Alpha Males.

I was a CW supporter for too long. He is clueless. I hope he enjoys his buyout money. He sucks.

I don't think CW should remain as coach but I don't want to see him fired unless ND has a plan in place.

If CW is a true ND man, he will handle this with dignity and resign. He will also not take his full buyout, he does not deserve it. Hopefully, he speaks well of the Universities decision to the committed recruits.

If he is fired he will get his buyout. If he resigns he will forfeit the remaining balance.

He will be fired Monday at noon.

Doubt it. He will get an ultimated from the "brand new" AD and have to produce a winning record next year with a top 20 finish. Or, everything may hinge on this years bowl game. USC was not even a fair measuring stick. The only way USC loses is if they were to have a total break down. That is how good they are. CW will get one more season.

Remember When?

Remember When?

I recall hearing a story about Charlie when he was a student going into the head of the university and demanding Dan Devine's resignation. Devine won a NC and what has CW done? He had some balls and now it is time to step aside. He has to admit that his performance is deserving of his dismissal. How long will he hang on to this? Less than 100 total yards is a record in ND futility.

Part of me wants Urban Meyer, and part of me wants to give Weis one more chance...but I don't know.

I believe we had 79 last season against Michigan.

You want to immediately be back at the top of the nations elite....GET URBAN period. We cant get a coach who is unproven at recruiting and OKAY at coaching. We need a man who can do both very very well....urban does just that, he wins, devote catholic guy, works his butt off, and yes i will even say, recruits better than charlie weis. and the guy really cares about how his guys turn into men once football is done.

i think it is a bad idea to fire him at this time (monday)... but regardless, for the sake of recruiting, AD needs to finish his end of season 'evaluation' soon and put an end to any rumors.

He never did that.

He went to Hesburgh to complain that the coach was underperforming...Hesburgh dressed him down and told him that he was not administration, etc.

This isn't about one game.

It's about two years of horrid football with a team full of blue-chippers.

If you rationalize your support for [NAME REDACTED] by telling yourself that people are unjustly judging him based on this one game, then go ahead - but it couldn't be further from reality.

Was Syracuse with a lame-duck coach a fair measuring stick?

I could list plenty of other "fair measuring stick" games where we came up short, but there's really no point in doing so.....if you honestly think [NAME REDACTED] deserves another year, you're living in lala land.

Suggested reading material: [NAME REDACTED]'s own "No Excuses."

The top 2 names everyone is mentioning are both in position to be playing in a BCS bowl (1 already punched their ticket). What makes everyone think these guys are going to accept this head coaching job now?

It may still be those 2, but perhaps nothing will happen until after the bowl game (if there is one), and the season of those 2 teams has concluded. Is it possible that a termination is not made until January?
