First off, midwest, SWEET AVATAR!!

I hope that Pete Carroll didn't get that memo because I'm sure he'll go for the jugular. Carroll is probably sick of CW taking top notch recruits away from USC. While the recruiting has yet to provide satisfying returns, it is nice to see somebody at ND pulling in good recruits.

Wow!! As I speak I just saw, on First Take (blah), Jeff Samardzija talking about CW. The lead into the segement was a quote from a member of ND's administration: "The money involved with a buyout will NOT be an issue if we decide to fire Charlie Weis. The buyout is not as much as the media and fans have made it out to be. It's been all about Charlie since the day he arrived on campus. He has built no personal relationships with anyone at this University."

Wow. That is, if it's true, a very damning statement. I'm surprised....really surprised.

I still can't figure out what to make of that statement. I'm guessing, though I wouldn't put it past them not to, that ESPN probably went to great lengths to validate the anonymous person's identity. The statement was almost tantamount to saying that Weis is fired. If somebody inside the administration is saying that they don't like Charlie and they've done enough research into the cost of buying him out to know it isn't as much as we think, than that probably doesn't bode well for CW.

Hopefully, if it is true, the morons at least have somebody viable in PLACE (vs in mind e.g. Urban Meyer four years ago). I don't want CW fired for the sake of firing him. We can't leave ourselves high and dry like that.

well i guess we'll all have our answers after the USC game. if the team shows up and plays with some passion he'll probably stay. if they show up like they did against syracuse and BC i would think he's gone. even though nobody expects us to win, their performance will say a lot.

I think worrying about recruits is not a top priority. If you wait a year, do you worry about the recruits next year? It could happen that they lose recruits, but to me it's not something to base a decision on either way.

So CW's future is dependent on how much we lose ONE game by?

What if we lose by 17, or 21? The whole thing doesn't make sense, and I'm not buying it.

that's the nature of anonymous, they don't have to validate anything. and very rarely do they.

the problem with most of the negative stories about ND/Weis is that the source is usually one anonymous person. the trend there is telling.

that's easy. you see, other teams out there runs certain plays similar to NDs. and their coaches' middle names are often times Francis. Charlie Weis' middle name is not Francis, nor was he born on the 4th of July. bam, we lose to Syracuse.

I hope about 5 minutes later our new 'high profile' HC is named. Otherwise our recruiting class is going to have less than the hoops team.

If we actually win by some miracle, then it will be Pete Carroll(whose last name is a girl's name) who gets fired on Monday.

That's how green-and-yellow-dog-poo bad this team has become....and that's why [NAME REDACTED] should be fired, win or lose.
