You keep saying that no one saw this coming, but plenty of us, on this board, did see it coming and wrote about it. That was the crux of our argument. I don't know why you can't see that, but oh well. Enjoy the Stanford game. Hopefully we can sustain this progress. Peace...

I elaborated further on every one of those quotes. What do you do in LA? Do you write the quotes that go on the cover of DVD's? Like when Ebert says "This is not a great movie" and you erase the part that says "This is not" and put "A Great Movie" on the cover?

When I've brought up other sophomores who have performed at high level, you always shoot back about the talent guys like Tebow have around them. Then in the next breath you talk about how much talent there is on this team.

Clausen had an excellent game and suddenly you think that you've been vindicated. You've argued that we can't judge a guy from 10 starts or from one game. Yet now you're saying "I told you so" after one good game?

So if the offense goes down the tubes against Stanford (which I know they will not) would I then be justified to come back and say "No, I told you so".

This whole thing has gone way too far. I'm not going to confuse you with the facts, you've got your mind made up. You and I must be too much alike because I've never ran into this kind of friction on the Red Sox message board that I post on. I've had some smart ass exchanges and some really good point-counterpoint conversations which have changed my viewpoints on some things. But I've never had such a prolonged and ridiculous exchange with anyone.

So here's the options:

1) Ignore eachother.
2) Find common ground.

You pick.

Already said it: Truce. Agree to disagree with this thread. I gave you the quotes, you didn't respond to them all (arm strength, he's average, etc.) but yet you claim you did. I mean, nothing I can do. We simply don't see eye to eye on this. You're stubborn as a mule and won't admit you were wrong. I'm the same way, but when I'm wrong I'll be the first to admit it.

I completely agree that we can't judge him by one game. We can't annoint him yet, like I said in a previous post. But I've seen the improvement since the SDSU game, and that's why i said that he's the right guy, and that he's got all the qualities I talked about. You disagreed. Vohemently. You might be right in the long run. But I don't think so IMHO.

Moving on. Let's root for ND. I can see you're intelligent, and i enjoy intelligent ND talk, even if I disagree with the poster.

And now, to top it off, in the irony of all ironies, I'm a HUUUUUGGGGGGEEEEE Angels fan, and now we play your Sox! Born in raised in Orange County, the Angels have been my team since birth. I don't belong to any message boards, in fact due to time constraints this is the only board I post on. So i don't know what the boards are saying, but it is ON tomorrow night! Hopefully we can actually win a damn series from you guys, instead of laying down like dogs. Our team looks very good this time around, but we'll see. Peace.

Perhaps the fact that I'm Red Sox fan, and not one of the Johnny Come Lately variety, will help everyone understand why I doubt my teams. Oh the newbies expect success after success....I'm just happy as a pig in mud that we finally won a WS. I didn't even pray for another one. I could've died happy with just one.

It's a real quandry being a Catholic and a Red Sox fan.

Catholic Church says: Blessed is he who believes without seeing.

Red Sox fanhood says: I'll believe it when I f*cking see it.

Anyone here a psychologist?

Home field advantage baby. It's about damn time we get payback for '86! We'll see. I won't talk smack because the Sox have owned us recently, but I like our chances more this year than any other year...

I really like (but don't like to say it) your chances, too. Angels really dominated the head-to-head series this year. Could be an early exit for the Red Sox. But I'm keeping my fingers crossed.

No matter what happens to the Sox there is one thing I really love about this years MLB Playoffs: THE YANKEES AREN'T IN THEM!!

Red Sux are junk, Yankees will be back. It will be a cold day in hell before they are not. Enjoy your postseason without them b/c they will be back in 2009. Hank is a numbnut

Back with what? Hughes? Chamberlin in the eighth? Pay-Fraud in the clutch? Jeter aka the most overrated SS in MLB history?

As long as the Yankees keep resigning 36 year old catchers to FIVE year contracts than I'm not worried.

I've got a feeling Suzie Waldman is going to be crying again next season.

Get yourselves a (baseball) room. Quit the public (baseball) display of affection.

Yuck.

Your (baseball) public display of sexual tension is criminal.

Yes, there is a baseball thread where all this should be going.

Just try not to be too obnoxious to the kiddies if you are a Sox fan.

He took a major step back tonight. Needs a big time performance next week or else its time for DC.

I doubt DC would do any better considering the weak O-line, weak running game, and brain-dead, unoriginal play calling.

He looked like he was hobbling from the start. That will absolutely change a QBs confidence and ability to throw, especially if the injured leg is your "pushoff" leg.

Of course I could be wrong.

The team has gone into a funk and the coaches don't know or don't give a damn about getting them out of it. I have watched Irish football for 60 years and have never been as disappointed as I am this year. I DONT BLAME THE PLAYERS. I DO BLAME THE COACHING OR THE LACK THEREOF. PLAYER DEVELOPMENT HAS BEEN NIL. I'M NOT SURE CHARLIE IS HEAD COACHING MATERIAL....A SUPER NICE GUY BUT THAT DOESN'T WIN GAMES.

CW is a good recruiter and QB coach, it would be nice to keep him around for those 2 needs but that is it.

to be fair, bc's defense gave him less time in the pocket to make quick decisions....

I watched some of the game again. I really reacted harshly at first. I can't name another QB who has more responsibility than Jimmy. If he doesn't play like a Heisman candidate we have no shot to win. And with teams rushing just 3 and still getting in his face all day and dropping 8 into coverage his job has gotten much harder. Yeah he struggles reading a defense but I don't think thats a huge problem at this point. If he had a running game he would have far less than 13 INTs this season.

Never forget

you two are absolutely ruthless. He played a lot better today than in the pervious two weeks, what was the point of bumping this thread? Why not after Navy when he had 3 TO's last week? I know I am getting annoying defending the kid but damn bumping this thread after he played a fairly solid game seriously? 22/39 for 291 2 TDs and no picks sure cost us the game over the penalties, and lack of a running game, and the 2 missed field goals.
