Aparently a story breaking in the last hour or so? Heard Scott Van Pelt talking about it, and he mentioned Rich Rodriguez as a name that would have to be associated with this job. Would that not be awesome?

That is a really radical move for a college team that is 3 and 3.

There's got to be something else going on there.

P.S. And Bowden was just too gracious with that resignation letter. I'd be steaming if they fired me mid-season. He didn't even use the word, "disappointed". They must've had pictures...

This is grapevine, so take it for what it's worth. I heard that Bowden was told if he doesn't win a bowl game this year he is out. At 3 and 3 he made the call and said take me out now. According to Bobby Bowden, Tommy has been expecting this to happen for some time now. But again, who knows?

This is grapevine, so take it for what it's worth. I heard that Bowden was told if he doesn't win a bowl game this year he is out. At 3 and 3 he made the call and said take me out now. According to Bobby Bowden, Tommy has been expecting this to happen for some time now. But again, who knows?

But 3 and 3? These days 6 and 6 gets you a bowl bid. But beyond that, most coaches have too much pride to pack it in like that. They still gotta play Ga Tech, BC, FL State and S. Carolina. Why wouldn't he want to go get some against those guys?

Maybe he totally lost his locker room. But the guy mouthing off about that was the benched QB.

Yeah. The ACC has to have the most level playing field coaching-wise. Almost every guy in the conference has proven he can win.

UVA is down this year, but Al Groh has won there. And excepting BC, they are all chasing after the same Atlantic coast talent.

When Joe Gibbs was hired back by the Redskins, people thought it was Moses coming down from the Mountain. But I saw Parcells, Andy Reid and Tom Coughlin in the same division and said it wouldn't be a cakewalk. And it wasn't.

The ACC is like that now.
