Twins! Congrats! My boys are 12 months apart, close to twins. All the crazy stages of child raising times two but all the fun doubled up also.

we also have a chocolate colored cat named Brady and and an orange kitten named Tebow. Since their father is a Michigan grad, naming the boys after Irish QBs was not an option:)

My wife actually asked me to post on this site the leading two names for our impending twins in order to better gauge feedback representative of those that would appreciate these names. With that said...

Brady Paul and Tommy Knute (The 'K' is enunciated). Paul is a family tie-in, although you can argue the Notre Dame affiliation as well.

Thoughts?

I like Brady Paul better.

We need 2 names Junk, can't name them both Brady Paul. I do appreciate the feedback. The wife is big on Tommy right now, and Knute seems like the coolest ND-connected middle name on the board. We have paid homage to the family as much as we can in other child names, so a great ND-obvious name would be great. I am Scandinavian and Irish, so I want the names to have that tie-in as well, if possible. We are actually looking to ND Nation for names here! Step up IE faithful!

Brady Paul and Tommy Knute are pretty cool names.

I was thinking maybe Louis Charles (Lou & Charlie) and Brady James (Brady & Jimmy) (Duh). :)

Your greatest joy is yet to come...first haircut, first day of kindergarten, first play at school, graduation from grammar school, grad. from high school, and the biggest of all, grad from college (ND of course, so start saving yesterday) and finally, beaming Dad at your children's weddings. God bless and keep you all safe.

Thanks Irish52. We already have 2 in the farm system, so 4 ND educations may end up forcing me to sell the family cow. Or will I just trade her for these magic beans? Hmmmm.......

I personally love both names- You cannot go wrong when you use Knute in a name, and Brady Paul is a very up to date current name it will fit anywhere.

I just had a few minutes to surf the boards and post a couple of times, and wanted to share with everyone that the twins are here! It has been a surreal week already in the Houston area.

I will post again in the next day or two with names and my thoughts on the craziness of the last 5 days. Our babies were born 5.5 weeks premature, so keep them in your prayers. They seem to be doing well, but one is getting oxygen to help him breathe.

baby 'a'- 6lbs. 12.5 oz 18 3/4"
baby 'b'- 6 lbs. 10.5 oz. 19"

Real big for premature twins!

Thanks for your thoughts and support!

that's wonderful Alum.

my 2nd son who was 14 days early weighed 5-14, so those are some big babies.

All,

What a week. We lost power on Friday around 6pm, almost 12 hours before Ike passed over our home, which was certainly frustrating. Being out of communication with the outside world was surreal, and we were just hopeful that we would have power before these boys came into the world.

Believe it or not, Ike was a minor blessing for us, as the temperatures in the Houston area have cooled significantly in the last couple of days, which made life without power bearable. We also found out once we arrived at the hospital yesterday that our school district would be out for the rest of the week, which would allow me to better manage my time in caring for my 6 and 4 year olds as well as be at the hospital to be with my wife and the babies.

And the names are.....Christian Paul and Braedan (Brady) Samuel. Both are still in the nursery getting help from the nurses in building their lung strength, but appear to be out of the woods and on the road to getting to my wife's arms!

Life is just a blur right now, I hope I have gotten everything out there. Continue to pray for my wife and kids on the road to recovery. I am the only family member providing care for the next 30 days until in-laws are in from out-of-state, so they will need all of your thoughts and prayers. :) If you can light candles at the Grotto, say prayers in your church or your home, even a thought during your busy days is appreciated.

Thanks all and Go Irish!

Congratulations Irish Alum!!! I'll say a prayer for your wife and baby boys.

I am going to have to pick your brain over the next few months as my wife and I are expecting twins (just found out last Monday that they're both boys...yippee!). We're due February 18th, so I might PM you for some info along the way.

Sport, that's awesome! What a blessing. I owe you a v-beer once I get my bank account up to acceptable levels. :)

Always love giving ideas on names and child-rearing!

Braedan ("Brady") and Christian were brought home tonight after a 17-day stay in the neo-natal ICU. Both are doing well, and Daddy-O is on the computer trying to stay alert while on 'night duty.'

A big thanks to all of you who have sent along a nice note or had a thought about my boys in the 6 or 7 months since I started this thread. I am looking forward to them sitting next to me and my 4 year old son in the living room tomorrow getting their first taste of Notre Dame football. Here's hoping they bring a little extra luck to the Irish tomorrow.
