Shaq would be a super pickup for ND. Apparently, he had a great visit this past weekend. Hopefully, that will translate into a commitment. We would then have a super wide receiver corp. You can bet the CA schools will be all over him in the next several weeks.

Reports are that he gave his Verbal to Petey at the SC game.

SoCal, can we move this thread back into the actual 2009 Recruit section?

not quite sure what you mean. the only time a recruit in a certain year gets moved is if he commits. his profile is then stickied to the top of that year's forum. if a guy commits elsewhere, we leave the profile in that year's forum rather than move it to a "commited elsewhere" forum.

Well the post was under the general recruiting section, not the 2009 recruits, where it appears now.

Evans ends commitment to USC, likes Irish

ESPNU 150 WR Shaquelle Evans (Inglewood, Calif.) said he no longer wants to be listed as a soft commitment to USC. In fact, the talented wide out said the Trojans are not his top school any more.

"Right now, I'm really feeling Notre Dame," Evans said. "I had a great trip back there and that's where I feel most comfortable. It's hard to explain but I just felt so at home at Notre Dame and I've never felt that way around any other school."
Evans took an official visit to South Bend two weeks ago and said the high from the trip has yet to wear off.

Thanks for the update!!

C'mon over kid!!! Pro style offense with excellent QB's and an excellent offensive mind, with Floyd and Tate showing you the ropes. Join the family kid!

What would make this sweeter is that we would steal it out from Petey McSunshines nose.

I'm still cautiously optimistic. He sees to like everywhere he goes, a lot. That's probably what I would do to every school too, other than ND, so I'm not bashing.

Hopefully he is in the fold. I know he has to like the fact JC likes the long ball.

agreed, he is what 18 years old??? At that age anything can happen from now til signing day, but it is nice to see we are in front for his services...

besides, education wise he won't get an offer from a better school than Notre Dame

How sweet would it be to land the 2 best skill position guys in California? Wood and Evans.

Take the "right nows" out of his response, and its perfect!!! It will be hard to overcome his visit. He should just commit now!

I have a great feeling about this kid. I think he's going to end up Irish. He sees that we are set with a great offense for wide receivers to showcase their talent and that we are set at QB for the foreseeable future. He could change this above average recruiting class into another great one.

yeah, he would have a big impact on the recruiting rankings for the Irish. With a commit from him that would surely move us into the top 10 and to help hold us there.

lMore importantly, his commitment would likely sway other undecided recruits to swing our way, notwithstanding the tremendous impact he will have on our passing game. Let's hope he decides to place his trust in ND.
