with OSU pretty much filled with D-line recruits for 2009, ND could have a chance to get a good recruit out of Ohio. Is trying to set up a visit to ND to learn more about the school.

He's a :s::s::s::s: on scouts, but not in Rivals database at all. With Cincinnati, Indiana, Michigan State, and Northwestern as his only offers why is Notre Dame going after this guy? Makes me worry were losing out on Lalota or Bonds. Don't get me wrong, if the kid is worthy great, but why are we just now hearing about him?

Some of these kids kind of go under the radar. Take Brian Smith for example. If he is a :s::s::s::s:, I wouldn't worry too much about talent.

continue to expect this pattern of recruiting. the coaches can't obtain and review film on everyone instantaneously. there is also the possiblity of late bloomers. Taylor Dever was one such recruit that the Irish found during his senior season.

they also prioritize and as the first wave of offerees wane in there interest, they look to the next guys on their board.

i don't think it's any secret or surprise that DE Kennard and DT Adams were never seriously considering ND. as for Lalota and Bonds, i don't think you can read into what the coaches are doing. They have to recruit until NSD. until a recruit gives a verbal, they have to keep pursuing all options. What would happen if they just pursued Lalota and Bonds and one or both decided to go elsewhere. If you haven't kept contact with other guys, the likelihood that you can start calling in Nov, Dec or january and get serious consideration is extremely low.

Something I really like about this kid, he's got a ton of potential in terms of his size and speed. Really reminds me of Justin Tuck, in terms of his size and 40 time.

from the video i seen his speed is top notch for a DE. But he will be a project, collage weight program could do wonders for this kid.

If this kid weighed 20 more pounds Rivals would have given him another star.... 6'5" 220
4.6 forty sounds like a future speed rushing DE to me... this kid looks to have great upside

Will make a visit for the Michigan game along with many others per IE and II. That weekend is easily going to be the game with the most recruits next year.

but i was saying just for them to see how it is when we win a big game. plus the statue unveiling and everything else. i see your point as if we play poorly they think they could start earlier but i hope they see the win as a beginning to a national title team. maybe not this year but next

Sounds like an 3-4 OLB pass rush machine.
In the Willie McGinest mode.
We need players that are versatile.
I love 3-4 OLBer's that can also put their hand down and rush the qb in dime situations.

I believe he and his mom attended the game. The visit pulled ND even with his other top schools, and he is planning an official visit for later in the year where he can learn more about the academics, and tour the campus and facilities more in depth.

Looks like we are really in the mix for this guy. Really like his potential alot, 6'5'' 220 and runs a 4.6.....really think we need to go after this kid hard. We need to start establishing more speed rushers along the dline, like Kapron Lewis-Moore in the last recruiting cycle. Hopefully we can really wow him on his official in November. Free Scout article below.

more (free) Scout.com: Football on the Side

Custis says the three things that he's looking for in a school are 1) academics, 2) football and 3) social life. "I want football to be on the side," he said. "If I didn't have football in my life I'd want to make sure the school would still be a place I'd go too.

"I really want to go where they have a great business program," he said. "But I still want to have fun too, so the social life is going to be important too."

Although he hasn't scheduled an exact date yet, Custis says he plans to visit Notre Dame in November. "Notre Dame is a great school," he said. "Besides the prestige and academics they also have great football tradition."

But the thing about the Irish that stands out the most in Custis's mind is their family atmosphere. "It really feels like a family there," he said. "It's more about family there than the other schools. They are all really close and have a good bond with each other."

as much as i would like for this guy to be all irish, things arent looking too good for the home team. free scout article has him saying he is 90% sure he will choose BC.

That's what happens when you lose to BC in the manner we did. NOt saying that's the reason, but it's not exactly shocking...

Guess we really gained some ground yet again. Every time recruits visit we generally do pretty well with them. Minus syracuse.....damn snowballs.

Visited Northwestern this weekend, story on Rivals, can't read it. Anyone know if the Irish are still in it after this weekend?

the article says that it is now between NU and BC. He said that he is not worried about ND anymore. That really sucks.
