wake up about 15 before game time (on the west coast so games are earlier) and get a glass of water to kill off the hangover. then toss on my '88 championship shirt and hop a bus to Harry's in SF for some hair of the dog. i love fall saturdays

I always watch Rudy the night before. Sometimes I put in another sports movie after that like Miracle or Hoosiers to get the emotions pumping even more. Alarm goes off promptly for College Gameday, I put on my ND practice shorts and favorite ND t-shirt (or hockey jersey) and I start breakfast of steak and eggs and my famous Bloody Marys. After breakfast, I will watch one of the classic games like the '88 game against Miami and get all the snack ready. Just before game time, I pop my first Guinness and settle in for kickoff. On Saturdays, my dogs wear their ND bandanas and my wife wears her #10 jersey that says "MISTRESS QUINN" on the back. The phone is always answered with a "Go Irish" on gamedays and the door is always open for fans to stop by, hoist a pint with me, and cheer on the Irish. This year I just hooked up the nitrogen system for my keg cooler so I will have Guinness on tap!

Wake myself and everyone else in my section up by blasting my Notre Dame soundtrack on my obnoxiously and excessively loud sound system, continue to blast the soundtrack in the showers, get suited up in my game day attire, visit the Grotto and pray for the opposing team to go home hurt but not injured, grab some grub from the kids running around chanting: "Buy a burger, buy a brat, buy a hot dog, buy a lot," get hydrated with a few drinks from the Huddle and then dehydrate myself with other drinks at the tailgates, run over to the stadium just in time to watch the teams warm-up, then scream and cheer from kick-off until the clock reads 00:00 or I lose my voice, whichever one comes first.

clean my living room, grab water and plastic cup for possible chuckage, move coffee table from in front of the tv for more pacing room and/or dropping to my knees, put the game face on... No phone calls, no visitors, no food, no kids, just me and the TV. Intensity times 90000...
By the end of last year I found myself unwittingly falling back into a ritual that hasn't been around since the Faust years....racking myself in the junk 5 minutes before kickoff so then watching the games wouldn't seem as painful in comparison.
Hopefully this year Tenuta will straighten out [NAME REDACTED] and we can get this thing back on track.

Pop in my ND cd (put it on repeat), put on "The Shirt" and make sure I have enough beer in the fridge. The its time to watch the Irish!

I do a football graph with my first graders and we start the Monday after the first game of the season. We graph the number of touchdowns their five favorite SEC teams and my ND score each weekend.

Haha SouthernIrish, as I was reading your post I was thinking exactly what you said... not so fun charting ND's touchdowns last year. Where is the "middle of the SEC", by the way?
My gameday ritual usually goes something like this:
Wake up, open a beer and watch Gameday for a little while until I get tired of hearing them praise OSU and USC. Then decide where I'm going to spend the day-- my house, a friend's house, a bar, etc. On good days, the ND game and the UGA game are on at different times, but all too often I'm forced to constantly flip back and forth. Generally after about 6 hours or so, we're all fairly well lit and the rest of the day/night takes care of itself. During the early part of the season, it's still in the upper 80s and 90s down here, so a pool and girls in bikinis are generally somewhere in the mix. And usually once a year we head to the beach for the last trip of the season, so we get to combine my two favorite things: football drinking and beach drinking.
One thing I have to say: I am soooooooooo glad I don't have to work weekends anymore. A job can seriously put a damper on football festivities.
