The ESPN top 150 comes out tomorrow. I know it's ESPN, but does anybody have any thoughts or predictions for their list?

pretty much... Wood will be lower than he should be... and any other player that looks like they MIGHt go ND will as well... the exact opposite will be true for USCs kids

Tyler Stockton is the 2nd rated DT (behind McDaniel but ahead of McFarland) and is ranked 32nd overall. I agree that ESPN is full of it, but I definitely agree with this rating. I think they are the only service that has correctly rated Stockton. He's gonna be an absolute beast!

Alright lets look at this. The past two years we have had 10 recruits in ESPN's 150. This year we have four on the first day. Thats not that great, however, if this list does not change, it is possible we get 9 or 10. In the list, we have Wood, Stockton, Watt, and Martin. We can possibly get: Manti Te'o, Jelani Jenkins, Shaq Evans, Xavier Nixon, and EJ Banks. I am unsure where we stand with Ray Ray Armstrong, Xavier Su'a Filo, and Chris Bonds. I know Jamarkus McFarland is no longer considering us, havent heard much of Branden Smith either. So that leaves us with a strong possibility of 9. Although i do find it quite a shocker that they left Lalota out of their 150. Although ESPN sucks, we still tend to get a good amount of their top recruits, i dont think this year will be much different.

yeah but if te'o commits to ND he'll drop like a rock. Look at clausen was he even in the top ten after he committed. everywhere else thought he was god and ESPN tried to "not go along with everyone else" and put hi as low as they could

You're both right in a way... The Intense Jimmy C. "hype" that ESPN now complains about was started by them... not by Rivals, not by Scout, but ESPN... when it looked like Jimmy was a lock for USC, at least in their minds, they had him at #1... They called him the once a decade prospect and compared him the Sidney Crosby and Lebron James respectively...

Then he comitted to ND and that feeling instantly, literally within a week changed to, "Well he can't be that good, look at the team around him and the teams they play, anyone would look that good with Marc Tyler at running back." Needless to say within a short time of Tyler comitting to SC he was ESPN's new top prospect of that year and finished that way... One of two things happened with absolute certainty, ESPN admitted they are an absolute joke by having the player they themselves doubed the "greatest player since John Elway" not even earn the top spot for national highschool players rankings for his own senior year... OR they made it known in no uncertain terms the flagrant bias they have for anything USC

That surprised me as well. I would have thought that he would have landed somewhere in that bottom 25 or so. Oh well, he did give his commit to ND and it is ESPN ... so it's self-explanatory!

Since ESPN's credibility seems to hinge on how well they rate our recruits, they did have Golden Tate, and Gary Gray ranked in their top 15 (class of '07)

And they had Kerry Neal, Ian Williams, and Brian Smith rated a lot higher than either Rivals or Scout did as well. IIRC, IUB did a comparison of the different recruiting lists for that year and the ESPN list had on average ND players rated higher than the other organizations.
