Wow. idk but i read something on rivals that just struck me as being very odd...... they have an article about him being ready for the season, talking about whom he has narrowed his choices down to, and it said he was going to make his decision but then he talked to notre dames brian polian, who told him he should be patient and take his visits before deciding. am i the only one who finds it very promising that the coach who told him not to commit was one of our coaches, whom he may have possibly been wanting to commit to bc he was tired of the process...... free article the link is below.

USC has gotten 3 top WR commits. How many can they take? Probably one more. Evans and one of the top 2, if not the top, WR in Calif - Rolando Jefferson, are both interested. Carroll is probably pressuring each, and Polian has advised Evans to take his visits.

There's a lot of "inside jokes" here for long term veterans. If somebody would be so kind, please enlighten me.
I notice a lot of inside jokes about 1 "rumors" , and 2 this "VC" thing lately.

I wish people would respect me for being a great source of new information, it appears not
Rumor has it my girlfriend of 5 years has decided to not move to Denver with me and instead has broken up with me, but it gets better... turns out she started dating someone else after only 1 week of being single, and this ain't a rumor!
I liked how this site used to be for free. Now information is held back for club members only. The problem you run into, is that there are other sites with the same inside information, who don't charge. I have some pretty good sources too, but I won't charge anyone here to hear about rumors and leads. I know I'm going to be blasted for speaking up against this union, but I'll still shop at Wal-Mart. No offense implied, just stating the reason for my year-long defection.
Thanks IrishGrizz, I appreciate it. Yeah, I was extremely heartbroken yesterday but I'm trying to pick up the pieces and move forward.

First off, this site has always been free. The Varsity Club is way to voluntarily give support to the people that run this place and to gain a few perks as a result of the support, one of those being able to access information that the moderators and other members do not feel comfortable publicly announcing yet. I'm sure there are things that your sources tell you that they might not want being publicly spread around yet. That sort of information is reserved for the Club who have all agreed to keep the posted inside information just that, inside information. This information, once verified, eventually finds its way into the free forums within a day or two at most. This isn't about money, it's $12 per year, and I don't see a dime of that. This is about our previous commitment to our sources whose confidence we wish to uphold.
The problem you run into Jason, is that when anyone can join this gold club, then who's confidence are you really upholding? The ones who can afford it are in the know? That doesn't exactly deter anybody from joining, so how does that make it exclusive? I guess its exclusive for the fact that not everybody wants to pay 12 dollars. Some people think that information should be completely free. Now if there is something which would be considered public-sensitive, then perhaps the use of the PM to ones who you respect. But when threads turn into "you should join the GC, or this is why you need to join the GC, or I can't say anything else here but I'll say it in the GC", that seems to not uphold the privacy of the ones you want to protect. It seem to entice non-GCmembers to join; therefore increasing the chance of it finding unwarranted publicity. IMO. I don't think this is for profit, just kind-of an inconveniece to the passive ND fan who wants to know, with out paying for it, info in which other sites are offering up freely. No disrespect to you sir, just thought I'd let you know what a few people think.
That's a legitimate critique, but as none of us are professional recruitniks but rather are just a group of amateur football fans who happen to stumble upon news from time to time, very few would fork over the twelve dollars for the information alone. As much as our Club Members appreciate the inside information, we simply cannot compete with amount of information that is provided by services which do this for a living.
At the risk of sounding a bit cheesy, I'd like to think that those that join the Club have typical spent some time on this site, contributing to it wherever they can, and have formed a few friendships with some of the other contributors. Sure, there are a few here and there who deviate from the mean, but for the most part, it's almost like a family inside the Club, and we feel comfortable sharing the few scraps of information we get amongst ourselves, and, I think, it is our perogative to do so.
As for what information we do have in the Club that isn't immediately shared in public, we typically discuss rumors that we would liked verified by other members with sources before we announce them publicly, this shields us from the possibility of creating false smoke where there is no fire. Other things include small on-campus scraps of information that we feel don't have a place being discussed on the free boards.
It might not intuitively make sense for us to try and keep things 'secret' in a Club which only takes 12 dollars a year to have access to, but we feel that with those who do join the Club become a part of a small circle of friends with whom we would have shared the information anyway. Just my couple o' cents.
