This is a huge pickup!! He's 5-1 with a 2.34 ERA with 92 K's in only 77 IP!! I am sooooooo excited!!! What a one two punch with Z and Harden!!

Yea the only guy I don't like giving up is Eric Patterson, but this guy is too good to pass up.

This is huge and it solidifies our spot atop the division not only did the Cubs get a lethal 1-2 punch with Harden and Z, they got 2 guys that could carry us through the playoffs...Also, don't forget about Chad Gaudin, he is a guy who could fill in the rotation spot and is a solid reliever who is young. What a deal! Been celebrating for 3 hours now! hah.

The Brewer's don't scare me even with C.C. He only pitches every 5 games...now if the Brewers make the playoffs then we'll worry about him.

I like this trade! It is good to see that management is willing to pull the trigger this year. Anytime you can get a potential ace (when healthy) for what have been spare parts is a good deal. I like Murton alot and I think he will do well in Oakland but he would never have gotten the bulk of at bats for Lou!

Sweet trade, they hardly gave up anything. But the only thing is Harden and his injuries.

Didn't the cubs already have a super talented young righty that was injured none stop. Oh that's right, his name was Mark Prior. I liked Harden until he went to the north side. I say he is on the DL by late August.

Haha this thread is great! All of the non Cub fans are bitter cuz we have the best record in the NL...and all they can say is oh they'll blow it again! Hah. Bring up the past all you want but I don't live in the past...RIGHT NOW this team is the best in the NL and just got even better with Harden!

The cubs should make the World Series this year. The NL is weak. But I see the cubs falling flat on their faces again. I add this team to all the other "This is the year" cubs teams.

As an A's fan i am sad to see him go. he is a top 5 pitcher in the league is his arm healthy. the thing is he is never healthy and Billy Beane always seems to know what he is doing
