This is really great news...its been awhile!! I also am hearing that Pollard is really good friends with Shaq so this is a great committment in more ways than one! Welcome Marlon.
SoCal. I guess I assumed this entire time that ND would take 3 DB's, most likely 2 Safeties and one CB. Does this change that? Do they take 2CB and 2 Safeties? What does this do for Banks?
well that quickly went public. there were rumblings that ND fans were getting some very good news today.
Marlon came away so impressed by his visit that he decided to withdraw his UCLA verbal, which had been "soft" for a while, and today advised he intends to verbal to ND.
good day indeed. welcome aboard Marlon.
Awesome move. LETS GO IRISHHHHHHHHHH!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Now is this a soft verbal or a strong Verbal?
"I have to make the right decision overall for my whole college (experience). I've been in California my whole life. I don't really like California, to tell you the truth. I've been wanting to get away from California. It's not that I don't like it, but it's time for a change. I've lived here my whole life. I want to travel."
Pollard visited Notre Dame last month and will major in pre-med. Pollard wants to be a surgeon, he'll just study in the Midwest now.
"It was just the feeling I got when I got on campus, the connection I made with people there,'' Pollard said. "It's the prestige and the balance of academics and athletics. There's nothing close to it that I've seen. I don't know if it was hard, but it was the right decision for me. I had to go where my heart was.''
Pollard's mom, Rachael, said she wanted to make sure people knew that there wasn't anything UCLA did to change her son's mind.
"We want to start off every interview we do by saying UCLA has done nothing wrong,'' Rachael said. "They've done everything right. It's a great program and a great staff. Marlon had a special connection with Coach Walker. This has not been easy to let down anyone from the Bruin family or fans. The last 24-48 hours we've had a significant amount of phone calls and there's been a lot of emotion. But the decision is final. It's not going to change.''

Saw over on DomerDomain that there is a rumor that Pollard could possibly be de-committing from ND and re-committing to UCLA. Obviously just a rumor, but the poster usually has good info....just throwing this one out there
