going into this weekend i was so charged up. we had a handful of recruits comming in and were half expecting some to commit. or at least i was. it was also my birthday and i was stuck going to a wedding. it ended up being an all spanish speaking wedding and the music was all spanish as well. i like some spanish music as much as the next guy but damn throw in something for the gringos. anyway... i woke up this morning with a smile knowing we had locked up someone only to be again let down by seeing offered next to everyones name still. i do take some happiness away from it knowing nobody has commited elsewhere but what dissapoinment this weekend was.

We will still get some of the guys who camped, it just might take longer than we would like.

No verbals but they also made a good impression on some of elite midwest talent for the class of 2010. Not the best weekend but still a very encouraging weekend.

It was a great weekend. Banks, Watt, LaLota, Motta, and Mike Jones all had great visits and we are in the driver seat with Banks and LaLota. Mike Jones didnt get an offer, but he already stated after the visit he would either be Irish or a Skunkbear.

Patience Grasshopper, they will come. We were spoiled last year. Usually the commits come late.

Omar Hunter spoiled all summer committ joy forever for me.

I like that they take their time, look around and then decide.

Sooo much time until Signing day... Weis wants people to stay committed and not make decisions on a whim. While in the short term it can be frustrating, it is less frustrating than when people decomit

nobody could have helped with that one. the only thing that may have helped is if they found a twin of trev and realized he was eligible to play for notre dame

Even if they didn't make a committment, I think LaLota and Banks are ours to lose...Plus I like it that the staff is already seriously recruiting '10 top prospects..I think we basically are already half done with this class and are being very picky this year. The 2010 class imo could be CW's best haul yet.

I agree I think the staff is happy with who they have right now and now all they are going is filling in the missing pieces that they think they need to make a run for the title.

you make a great point. it seems as if they are pretty comfortable with who we already have and im sure once we show improvments on the field more recruits will show interest. plus i absolutly love how they are already hitting marks for next years class. it is very importantto get to these kids early. esopecially the kids we need at key postions. i know every position is a key position but there are some postions we are a little thin on

Well, Rivals has us at #20 ranked class and we're sure to climb from that. Top 10 would be nice, but I really don't know at this point. We've missed some guys I thought we would get. Shrive comes to mind.

shrive was a huge miss on our part. hes at a need position and a good player. if they have us at 20 thats not bad. it is afterall still early and we are still looking and talking to alot of top recruits. hopefully alot of them decide to come our way. lalota, banks, and co.

This class is different in a lot of ways from CW's previous ones. It seems we've gotten a jump start on our key guys the last few years and with the rule change this past year, it took the staff a little longer to evaluate prospects. It takes countless hours to do this. So Jan and Feb are going to be huge months for us imo because we are going to be waiting on top guys like Teo, Jenkins, Evans, Nixon...etc. We have a nice start and with limited schollys available, we are allowed to be picky while at the same time giving the staff time to focus on prime targets and review more film to offer those late senior risers. A lot will hinge upon how we do this year. 8 or 9 wins would all but guarentee us a top 10 class if not better.

Also, the staff has already gotten accustomed to this new rule change and are getting highly touted prospects from next years class already visiting.

yeah i think there will be alot of late decisions by recruits to commit here. dont know why just a hunch. i would love to see us get most of the recruiting out of the way but hey if it takes time and biting nails to get teo jenkins nixon and guys like that then ill watch the clock and get to chewing on my nails

I actually like the late decisions...we get sum and we lose sum but thats what recruiting is all about..the last few signing days haven't been too fun but I would love to see a top prospect pull a shocker and pick ND, thats what recruiting is all about! It just shows how far ND recruiting has become in years past we would not even be in on any of those 5 star prospects announcing on signing day.

u r right. we have come a LONG way. im just impatcient/excited about stuff this time opf the year. during the football season i have so much to look at and think about as where this time of the year is kinda slow for football. so seeing recruits commit gives me things to look at and talk about. im just being greedy but it passes the time. either way i hope we get another commit soon. i saw that tyler had been offered so that will keep me busy for a while.

O I hear ya man...luckily I am a die hard cub fan but it comes nothing close 2 a ND game! These top recruits will definetly be worth the wait if we get them!
